i keep thinking about jean’s POV of riko going to hit neil.

in aftg, neil is so focused on riko coming down with his racket to hit him that it seems like andrew comes out of no where to save him but i love that jean sees it. and it’s not like he just moves out of goal or anything, no, he HAULS ASS to get to neil to save him. that to me says everything. i love them so bad

The fact Andrew even got there in time means he probably started sprinting before anyone else even noticed Riko was going to hit Neil.

Considering Andrew's experiences with violence in foster homes, he probably could tell by Riko's subtle body language that he was about to hit Neil in some capacity.

Andrew, who chose to be a goalie because it required the least amount of movement.

Andrew, who doesn't often run.

Andrew, who threw himself out of his goal like all of hell was at his heels.

Because after everything, there was nothing more important in his world than Neil.

we've all talked about the iconic neil cameo (i will never tire of talking about the iconic neil cameo) but the scraps jean hands us about andrew? warms my heart. the fact that people in the exy world have picked up on how he's actually putting an effort into games this year. the way he heaves himself out of goal so fast to defend neil from riko. that wymack told the press it was andrew's idea to put neil in defense and it was hailed as genius. andrew getting the recognition he deserves, even if he doesn't care for it. jean speaking to an empty room, "he will be court", as confidently as kevin speaks about neil. andrew having a dedicated candy drawer. andrew always looking at wymack when kevin and neil are being pedantic. andrew and neil and the quiet way they are wrapped around each other's existence. andrew minyard.

Seeing neil from an outside pov actually 100% makes it clear why andrew was as intrigued as he was. Because we as readers could see how stressed neil was 24/7 but seeing him from jean’s perspective really helps to see how absolutely off the rails he seems if you don’t have the insider understanding of his character

I hate you,” Andrew said casually. He took a last long drag from his cigarette and flicked it off the roof. “You were supposed to be a side effect of the drugs." ― Nora Sakavic, The King's Men @lgbtqcreators creator bingo free choice creative

“What hope, Vallie?” said Ursa softly. “What will change what happened to the Earth? Nothing, now.” “But while we live—” “—the enemy shall fear us?” Ursa shook her head. “Or maybe, while we live, we’re alive, and that’s all.”
