The Whole Uncut Saga in One Place

Hi Uncut! We had great feedback from Empire Uncut and are so excited by how many people have been watching (over 1.3 million so far!!).

We've got more good news. I started VHX to create a better digital video alternative to the DVD and make sure people can watch the things they love, everywhere. Think of this like the official Star Wars Uncut Collector's Edition Digital DVD: we're putting all of the Star Wars Uncut videos in one place.

  • Everything is HD. For the first time, you can watch A New Hope Uncut in bright, shiny 16:9 format.
  • VHX lets you stream or download to watch anywhere. This is the way to own your copy of Star Wars Uncut and watch on any device. There's even an app
  • Fans see it first! If we ever have new videos or trailers, they'll automatically be added to your Uncut collection for you to watch instantly.

And of course, it's free for the whole Uncut universe. Just go to http://starwarsuncut.vhx.tv. You can redeem (or even gift it!) for free and it'll live forever in your VHX library.

Long live dog Chewbaccas and baby Bobas everywhere!

We received almost 2,000 submissions for Empire Uncut, and we had a blast watching each and every one.  To choose the scenes for this Director's Cut, we assembled a team of 20 Uncut superusers, film experts, and Star Wars aficionados to be our panel of judges. After choosing their favorites, our awesome editors stitched it all together with the John Williams' score. But choosing favorites was no easy task - this is the most creative bunch of fans we've seen yet. If you watch carefully, you'll see that we've included more fans in the movie than the original 480 scenes. Our editing team, Todd Roman & Bryan Pugh, took a lot of care to make this one special, so we can't wait for you to see it.  We are extra excited that the Director's Cut is posted on the official StarWars.com site and YouTube channelThat means that even more fans in the Star Wars Universe will be able to watch your amazing work.

It's impossible to include everyone in this cut of the movie, which is why we made this an interactive online project. All the scenes will continue to live on forever at StarWarsUncut.com. Thank you all for your amazing work and passion. We're not sure if we're going to do a Jedi Uncut, but if we do, we hope you'll be there. Special thanks to Lucasfilm and Mickey Capoferri; our producers KK Apple, Ivan Askwith, Bryan Pugh, Casey Pugh, Todd Roman, Jamie Wilkinson; and our supportive friends and family.  Your scruffy nerf-herders,  The Uncut Team

Hi Uncut family! We've gotten so many awesome emails with excited questions about where the heck we are with Empire Uncut. We desperately owe you an update!

Where have you been? What's happening??

I had to take a break to work on my other passion that I started a couple years ago: VHX. VHX is growing and it’s very exciting, but I’ve been neglecting Uncut and its fans. I miss you guys.

We also had so many submissions for Empire Uncut: 1,569 to be exact. That’s almost twice as many as A New Hope Uncut. That’s over 6.5 hours of video created in just a few months. Crazy!

In order to make a final cut of the movie we wanted to make sure that we watched every. single. submission. Instead of having just one person pick their favorite, we decided to pull together 20+ judges who come from all sorts of mixed media backgrounds to help vote for the scenes. The votes have been cast and now we’re editing.

But when is it all gonna be ready?

We’re hoping it will be all ready by the end of the summer. We will be sprinkling in teaser stuff over the course of the next few months. We all know how auspicious May is for Star Wars fans...

What about the scenes that didn’t make the cut?

This part puts tears in our eyes. Every submission is brimming with creativity, humor, and love. We thought long and hard and finally came up with an idea for this iteration of Uncut that we think will be an amazing way to highlight all the submissions. The idea is still being fully formed, but we’ll talk more about it in the following weeks. We are so excited to continue to make Star Wars Uncut even more interactive and fan-driven.

Thank you again for all of your patience! Get excited! And get in touch if you have more questions!

Brick Sketch 15B: Get in there, you big furry oaf! I don’t care what you smell! #lego #chewbacca #starwars

Just a quick revisit of yesterday’s brick sketch with an alternate expression. I couldn’t settle on which I preferred, so I did both!

Chewy as a Lego sketch!
