Can we talk about the water jug scene again?

OMG  Nomy of course we can talk about this!!! How did you know I loved talking about this scene? ;))

He was so adorable wasn’t he?  I mean he was following her around like a puppy and would not shut up. It totally gives me life.. I love the way he tells her ‘you saved us.. all by yourself.’ There’s no even an ounce of ego it’s totally adoration ration on his part, he is just so over the moon about having her back he just can’t stop talking.. 

And when he asked he if she’s ok and she says ‘gotta be’ he gets this little smirk on his face like he remembers saying that to her himself.  It’s priceless really. 

Your description of his mindset is just spot on, it’s like ‘i better keep talking even though even though I have no idea what the fuck i’m doing..’ king of thing . Mr. Chatterbox senses that Carol is drifting away and he just can’t have that. So he’s thinking completly on the fly and totally out of his element in his attempt to keep reaching her. 

He was totally focused on her, working with only with feelings and pure instinct. And doing superbly in spite of his obvious lack of confidence in himself. And it’s not like his words are all blatter and talk for talkings , he’s actually saying real things there. Important thing. Stuff she needed to hear. Telling her “We ain’t dead.. whatever happened, happend.’

He’s practically stumbling over his own feet and completly off balance.. totally out his comfort zone but he he is TRYING  And just take a look at how desperate he looked here.. He was sooo hard to keep her hare with him and  wasn’t even sure if he was doing it right. you know? 

He just got her back and it feels like she’s slipping away again. Her interest in that care  did not go unnoticed by him. Didn’t take much for him to recognize the signs here. So he tries one more desperate measure  like you said, his thought process like ‘think of something dumbass..” 

And hilarity ensues..

He offers to carry something  for her COMPLETLY FORGETTING HE WAS ALREADY CARRYING ONE.. This is a guy whose always and dosen’t miss anything whose sure handed with a weapon but DROPS A WATER JUG trying to chivalrous with  a woman he just totally smitten with. 

And the hand of the face is so cute like he’s thinking ‘i’m so BAD at this..’ And Carol just looking at him like he’s the most precious thing in the world to her. That smile she gives there, there’s that sassy Carol that Daryl remembers from back at the prison. The one that called him ‘Pookie’ and flirted with him feel pleasantly uncomfortable, the good kind of uncomfortable where you sort of act like it bothers you but you actually like it. 

For Daryl, Carol had been his sunshine, his arrow, his guiding force. SHE was the one that made hims smile when smiling was uncomfortable for him or when he was in a bad way. She was always the one who reached out and tried to make him feel better and part of things. And now here he is trying to do it for her and it just… gives me such life and feels to watch it onscreen. 

And like you said he had to notice, through his hair and his hand on his face that that he did make her smile in his sweet awkward way that maybe h e didn’t intend. But to me Nomy that’s what makes it so beautiful.
