Okay, I’m not sure if it’s available in other countries, but I would like to share something.
In the recent disappearance and death of Iowa teen Mollie Tibbetts, people are urging others to download this app.
It’s called “Noonlight”.
See the big button in the center? If you are in a dangerous situation where you can’t contact the police, feel threatened, or in the midst of a life-threatening medical emergency and can’t talk, hold down the button.
When you let go, you have ten seconds to put in your pin (which you set up when you first install the app), otherwise the authorities will be contacted.
I know that this isn’t really part of my blog theme, but I really want people to signal boost this. It has saved quite a few people since it’s first initial launch as “Safetrek”, and brought piece of mind to many as well.
I downloaded it as a fail safe. I may live in a very, very small town, but I still feel unsafe standing outside my place of work, waiting for my mom or dad to come pick me up after I sign out for the night. This app makes me feel a bit more comfortable, knowing that if something were to happen, I have it to keep me safe.
