Adrienne in the afternoon on President Street in Carroll Gardens. I saw her the day before in Rite Aid wearing the exact same thing, standing near a tower of green Heineken boxes and a bin of lime soda and snapped a photo. Running into her the next day nearby seemed fated, so i stopped and told her how much i admired her outfit and the obvious effort it took to put it together: the green clip in her hair, the green belt, the socks, the American flag pin on her dress and tiny flower pin on her shoe. She seemed stunned, as if nobody had ever commented on her style before. We talked for about 15 minutes. After she agreed to let me draw her I asked how i could show her the photo - email? She said no, no room in the apartment for a computer. But she was sure we’d see each other again. I hope that’s true.
About a year ago, 27 friends got together and bought a little movie theater in Monte Rio (the Russian River area in Northern California) called The Rio Theater and Cafe. everyone who visits loves it to death and wants to move there. however, we realized a lot of people don't know how great the area is nor what to do when they get there (besides watch films at the Rio.) so we made this handy map and field guide to help people plan their trip. they are available for sale at the Rio Theater and near by shops. or you can leave me a note in the comment and do it by mail. i think they are going for the low price of 5 bucks, so it's a steal. and in any case, you all should come visit when you're in northern california. it's a special place. and The Rio loves you.
