I started this blog a little over one year ago in late December of 2012 without any thought or planning. After seeing the Hobbit for the something-ith time I made it completely on a whim and I really wasn't expecting much of it. It'd be cool to get a few followers, I supposed, but I didn't really see myself getting far considering I had no idea what I was doing. And if you told me that I'd get over 350 (nearly 400 now, actually) I would have laughed at you.

Even more so after I abandoned this blog in March of 2013 and didn't come back until December!! I had lost a lot of followers in that time and didn't expect to get my follower count anywhere close to what it used to be. Now, though, I've not only gotten back my old follower count but I've surpassed it by 100 followers!!  And so now I'm taking my time to just-- I mean holy hell thank you all so much. All my new followers and all the ones I got since I've come back thank you for all your wonderfulness and all the blogs that stuck to following me while I was gone, well... thanks for putting up with my shit like really. And now! In celebration and thanks, here's my first ever "follow forever". ...And I mean literally first ever I've never gotten enough followers on any blogs to do one of these.

Alright if you're bold it's probably because you're so good you intimidate me and I love you from afar or up close or... something.  I may not even talk to you and you're on here in bold and if that is so then I'm sorry hello I stalk you. If you're italicized then (probably) I role play with you often enough and/or I think you are the bomb diggity OOC. If you are both of these... then I must be in deep deep love with you or something. Otherwise if you're on here then I love seeing you on my dash and probably creep on your RPs and we probably RP!! Wish I could fit all of you on here but for now these loves will do!

Alright so I think that's all I'm going to name for now. Some of these people haven't even been on in quite a while but I still feel the need to put them on here because of how wonderful they've made my RP experience on here. And... yeah! That's all! Smooches to all of you!

"No I’m sorry… I don’t usually look for bottons…"

"Oh...drat. I'll have be heading into town to get a replacement one then. Hopefully they'll have one that mataches."

Bilbo looked down at the loose threads on his waistcoat where his button once was. Shame he had lost it. It really wa s a nice waist coat... though he could easily afford another.

"Thank you anyway," he looekd up to the man, taking in the stranger's apperance. The first thing to stand ou tto him... was the staff. He gawked at it slightly. It looked similar to Gandalf's and Radagast but the man wasn't as old and bearded as the other wizards. He cleared his throat to stop himself from his rude staring, "Apologies for being rude or snarky in a different way."

Dis was taken aback slightly by the hobbit’s shortness. She seldom left her home in the Blue Mountains these days and her tolerance for such abrupt behavior had worn thin in the isolation. But for the sake of trying to prevent a whole nation of small, wooly footed folk rising in anger against a single dwarf far from any kin, she held her tongue.

So this was Hobbiton, she mused. It seemed a quaint, charming little village, despite the apparent rudeness of it’s inhabitants. But then hadn’t Balin spoke of how displeased the burglar had been when first her brother and his company had arrived at his door? Not that she could blame him though, thirteen dwarven men could be a rowdy, troublesome lot. Likely too much for one hobbit to manage all unaware.

'I am looking for a Mister Bilbo Baggins, Master Halfling. A mutual acquaintance said that I might find him in a place called Hobbiton, located within the Shire boundaries. Perhaps you could direct me to his residence?'

Bilbo frowned, straightening himself and flexing his fingers. So, this time the stranger in Hobbiton was here for him. Wonderful, this won't do well to help his reputation. Not as though he was caring about it anymore, he'd all but given up on trying to be thought of as a respectable hobbit again, but he could at least do without all the talk he knew this would stir up.

"I could direct you to his residence--" Bilbo decided he had two options: lie and go home only to have another hobbit point her to him later or tell the truth and simply get this over with. So far, option two seemed better. "Or you can simply speak to me here. Course I'll probably have you follow me to my home anyway if this is not a short conversation you're hoping to have.

Bilbo gave a short bow, "Bilbo Baggins," he said politely, "At your service." He decided the greeting would do well. That's how the dwarves all greeted him, after all.

” Would you perhaps be able to tell me what this place is? “

"I...I know, though it is late. Perhaps not knock on someone's home if you can avoid it? There's an inn if you go to Bree...Come in, though. If you don't know where you are now then I certainly don't want you getting lost on the way to Bree!"

"And you're in Hobbition, in the Shire."

Going Home || Bri and Bilbo [Closed]

She could already see it in his eyes. Panic displayed so obviously all over him. His posture had even changed. “Yes, dear, now. I have brothers I need to get back to. I need to go back to Asgard and let Loki know I’m safe and sound and pick up some spell books.” She moved close, leaning down so that she could look him straight in the eyes. She hated leaving people, especially people like Bilbo. He was the most kindest being she’d ever met and truly, she didn’t want to off and leave him like this.

But, she had to.

A hand brushed his cheek as a small smile appeared on her lips. “I’m sorry sweet. I just have to. I really wish I didn’t have to but I do.” He looked so sad,… It was obvious that he was anguished by the idea of her leaving. She really wished she could just stay with the precious hobbit. Forever. Sighing, Bri gathered him in her arms and hugged him tightly.

"I’ll miss you."

Bilbo was in shock even as her arms wrapped around him. His slowly went around her as well and his fists balled up the fabric of this shirt on her back as the shock of it all set in.

Bri was leaving. And he would soon be alone in Bag End once more to live out the rest of his life.

He closed his eyes and buried his face in her neck, "I don't want you to leave..." he mumbled quietly, "I--it's lonely here, Bri." He admitted. He took a few breaths, determined to keep down the feeling of wanting to cry. "Can...can you at least stay for lunch or...or..." Bilbo didn't know why he was saying this. Lunch or not-- she would still leave him. He'd just keep looking for ways to make her stay if she agreed to stay for lunch.

Oh, he was angry.  Thorin didn’t need to hear the tone of his voice— he knew simply because of the way Bilbo looked at him, by the way his eyes positively blazed with fury and narrowed into the smallest slits.  he still held the events three years prior against him, and well, Thorin could hardly blame him for that.  Even he had a hard time getting over it, if his nightmares were indeed anything to go by.

"Bilbo…"  But what could he say?  What could he say in the face of that tirade, in the face of all that he’d done?  He doubted any number of apologies was going to make him feel any better about it— and what was more, the fact that they had been busy rebuilding the mountain seemed to matter very little to the Hobbit.  Tilting his head, he scratched the back of his neck as he waited for the rant to end, feeling that it was best that Bilbo got his feelings out of the way before they began speaking again.  It would be easier than having to work through a jumble of emotions as he had suspected he would need to do, early on in the journey.

"Do you not think we wanted to?" He forced out, standing calmly in the wake of Bilbo’s little storm.  He stared down at the Halfling with eyes as calm as a steady stream, willing him silently to understand.  How else could he possibly make him see?  "Do you not think that we — each of us — felt the sting of your absence?  You may have thought yourself unworthy, for what reason I know not, but you were indeed a valuable companion, Bilbo Baggins.  We would not have abandoned you.  We do not abandon our own."

He heaved a sigh, carding fingers though his shaggy raven locks and shaking his head.  ”But in rebuilding a kingdom, there is much work to be done.  I confess that yes, I have thought of sending letters.  I have considered sending a raven to check after your health.  I’m sure many of the others have done the same.  But we have a responsibility just as the rest of Erebor’s people do, to make our home safe and secure again.  There is much work to be done even three years after your leave, and of course I, as King, am required to oversee such things.  It would not do to have our own walls collapse upon us, now would it.”

He fixed Bilbo with a stare then, raising one eyebrow even as he seemed to shake at the mention of the stone.  Ah, that stone, that wondrous, perfect, beautiful stone.  He could see it even now glinting in the far distance, so bright it eclipsed all before it and all after— as if within it there lived the very essence of the light of the universe.  Such a miracle, that gem.

And yet…

“‘Tis only a gem, Bilbo.” he murmured, finally finding it within himself to approach two steps closer, and even loom over him the slightest bit.  Thorin did not plead, or beg, or even ask in any way for Bilbo’s understanding.  What he stated was mere fact— a fact he had long been instructing himself to accept, for the sake of his people and his kingdom, and this Hobbit who stood before him.  “‘Tis only a gem.  I…  I could not stand before you today if I was not so certain of my own words.  You have always been more important than the Arkensttone.  In any capacity.  Every capacity.”

It was not difficult at all for him to say those things— as a matter of fact they were something of a relief.  Thorin still needed help in coping with the madness that was Gold Fever, but he felt that he was doing well given the amount of time he’d allotted himself, and he hoped that Bilbo could see that.

Hearing Thorin say things did clear Bilbo's mind more. And hearing Thorin confess to the Arkenstone to being just a gem... To hear a dwarf say that--to heart Thorin Oakenshield say that after the very stone nearly drove him mad--it shocked Blibo, to say the least. He felt a blush in his cheeks and thanked the darkness for hiding that. Whoever knew he'd be flattered from being held more important than a stone! "Careful. People will think you've come just to say sweet things and woo me. You'll have my neighbors in a frenzy." His words were dark and nearly heavy but the teasing still stood there. Although not as light and friendly as it was once it was a way to show that Bilbo did not hate Thorin or want nothing to do with him. Bilbo, really, wanted too much to do with him than was healthy.

Still, his anger only simmered down slightly. It still had been three years with no contact and what had happened at the mountain, the things that Thorin had said, still remained. He sighed and looked down, pinching the bridge of his nose with a sigh, "One letter... one letter Thorin and I would-- things would be different." he took in a breath that caused his shoulders to heave.

Only words yet the conversation was one of the most exhausting things he had ever done. "I understand that you were rebuilding the kingdom and that was top priority, really, I do... but a simple message to explain that was all I wanted. I-- after--...I left so soon that I thought--" he let go of his nose, letting his arm fall limp by his side as he kept his gaze down. He wasn't sure if he could admit what he assumed at the end of the battle. Thorin's injuries were extensive and Bilbo thought, well, the assumed what most people were.

That the King Under the Mountain would soon be no more. It wasn't until he had recieved news from Gandalf and a letter from Balin that he knew that Thorin was alive. He remembered feeling infuriated that Thorin hadn't sent him some sort of message to inform him he was alive.

He's been busy though, a small voice in his mind attempted to rationalize, he's a king now, you honestly can't expect him to have you as top priority, selfish Hobbit. You're lucky you have him standing here in front of you now. Just think of Lobelia and how infuriated she'd be to know that you have a king standing outside your house! And how she'd scold you for not letting him inside.
