The Dublin Arm was invented in 1921, It was a significant advancement in artificial limb technology. It operated using a Bowden cable mechanism, where cables connected to the individuals residual limb enabled hand or hook movements. By contracting specific muscles, the user could control the cables, allowing them to grasp objects and perform various tasks with improved dexterity. This pioneering prosthetic limb set the foundation for future advancements in the field.

I also want to point out it's finally safer (not safe, just safer) to come out now, than it was more than a decade ago.

Hell, it's still dangerous for bisexual folks to come out, because we're yelled at by both sides that we're somehow confused, or fence-sitters, or jerking people around...when we're very much not.

But it's genuinely safer, now. Corporations are paying attention to the purchasing power of the Pride community, and that's doing quite a lot to change the tide of public perception.

We also now have enough of the Pride community alive and old enough and thus able to buy things to have a tangible economic impact.

The "gay movement" of the 1980s did start to have some of this same movement & momentum that we're seeing now...and then our community got hit by AIDS, got villified by the government, deliberately not treated (despite the fact it was also hitting heteros, they chose deliberately to let people die because "most of them are teh gays!!1!"), and painted as the bad guys whom "everybody should shun for just existing."

(To clarify, a lot of the heterosexuals hit hard by AIDS and HIV were Africans, as in people living within the many nations of Africa, and we all know how racist-as-fuck Reagan & Bush were, with Clinton not doing much better, so of course those racists were not going to talk about heterosexuals being harmed by this very same epidemic...)

We're goddamn lucky we even had existing members of the San Franciso Men's Choir in 1993. All those face-forward white shirts, all those turned backs, that was the biggest FUCK YOU!! to our government that could be given without actually saying those words.

However badly they needed to be screamed.
