now alone in the garden, y/n got back to her work of picking new flowers for the rooms in the palace. she picked, and she picked, and she picked. it was a mindless repetitive action, and it allowed her mind to wander. 

her mind replayed one specific memory, a memory y/n tried not to think about. she didn't like that memory. it made her happy, it gave her too much hope.

she was 15 again. it had been a few weeks after her mother passed away, and y/n was still grieving, hard. she couldn't even remember the last time she had smiled or laughed or even just enjoy the smallest things. all she felt was cold.

when chan started walking, he had no specific place in mind. he just let his feet carry him to wherever they wanted him to go. he really had no idea what he would do with the rest of his day, and yet, it was no surprise to him that he ended up at the entrance of the palace gardens. the garden was the only place where chan felt truly relaxed. and he had been itching to go back for a long time.

he pushed open the white wooden gate at the entrance and began his journey into the garden. it had been months since he'd actually been there inside but somehow it was the same as the last time he came there. the flowers were still as vibrant as ever. the morning dew seemed to make all the colors sparkle like gems in the morning sunlight. 

everything from cherry blossoms to roses to sunflowers grew in the garden, and looking down from the balcony never really did them justice. they looked way more beautiful up close. a gentle breeze blew through the garden as well, wrapping chan in the sweet smell of the different flowers. 

after so long, being in the garden again made chan feel like himself again. walking through the garden, took away any of the negative feelings he felt. it took away all the responsibilities and stress that came with being the crown prince. it felt nice to not feel like he was under constant pressure.

about 200 years ago, there was a war. a great, horrific war that brought devastation and bloodshed to the kingdom. that war was called the war of the Thunderous, a brutal 50 year battle between the Thunderous and the Strikers, fighting over who rightfully held claim to the land of the kingdom. thousands of people died, homes were destroyed, the land was starved of its resources. the Strikers had turned the once beautiful kingdom of the Thunderous into a barren, desolate wasteland. but from that despair and destruction, a man named Bang Gosang rose to power.

this man was at the front lines of the war. this man led every single attack against the Strikers. this man was the very first ruler of the Bang Dynasty. during his time as king, Gosang rebuilt the kingdom of the Thunderous to be even more prosperous and beautiful than before. he was a fair and just ruler, a kind man who was well-loved by his people. on the day that he died, every single person in the kingdom planted a seed in the ground and prayed, hoping that his soul would bless them with prosperity, the same prosperity that he brought back to the kingdom of the thunderous. this is what made gardens so important to the people of the Thunderous. they represent the growth and prosperity of the kingdom that was achieved by the Bang Dynasty, they represent the beauty of the thunderous. even now, generations later, people would still plant seeds in the ground when a woman gives birth to wish the new child a long and beautiful life that would flourish and prosper.
