just wanted to share a pic of my 2 keyboard babies. got really into it over the pandemic with my hubby. these are Fuji 65s with GMK Civilzation keycaps (white gold) and GMK Daifuku keycaps (pink). i'm currently in love with my Gateron Oil King switches.

I guess I never posted this one on this account. One of the many things I didn't get around to transferring over. But I wanted to reshare this here in honor of Akira Toriyama.
I didn't realize how much of an impact his passing and how much love everyone around the world had for this man and the legacy he left behind would have on me personally. I just thought, oh a famous person passed, that happens to people all the time... but really feeling it with every post, art, video, tribute of some sort gets me in tears. I may have been more into Sailor Moon and Pokemon and stuff, but I still grew up with it as a child and was still surrounded by it as an adult. I'm not sure what to call it, but Dragon Ball is more than a manga/anime/game/etc.
Thank you for everything. May you rest in peace.

My first event of the year was Hawaii Pop Con, a small card-focused event in Hawaii. My husband really likes to watch this youtuber Deep Pocket Monster, his content is fun and family friendly and I found out he was going to be at this event. My husband couldn't come with me, so I drew this pic in the hopes that maybe I'd get to meet DPM and trade this drawing for a selfie. I was nervous I wouldn't get the chance, but he happend to come around near my table and I did it! I grabbed a selfie and gave him this artwork. The end.
i'm feeling thoughtful/talkative so i'm going to do a little self reflection here.
last year was my first major year of doing my art as a real business, going to cons (8 total in 2023!), cranking out art, doing business taxes and expenses and things, traveling out of state a lot, being real business-like with my customer service (which i really enjoy, but can still be draining). i'm also working on releasing webtoon episodes regularly (had to reduce from weekly to every other week) and trying to figure out what merch to produce, and just like all my other every day things (like my daytime job). it's been crazy, super fun, great learning experience, but super crazy.
this year, i haven't been as lucky to get into as many cons as last year (not yet anyway), but maybe that's just life telling me to focus on other things.... LIKE FINALLY GETTING MY ONLINE SHOP TOGETHER!!! i've been very fortunate to have so many people inquire if they could buy my art online and i feel SO BAD that i'm not organized enough to take those orders yet. (if you've reached out to me asking to buy from me, i'm so so sorry!) i promise i'm really trying to get organized and get this online shop together.
in case you didn't know, cuz i am shy, my art business is just me and my very super supportive husband. he's very smart with numbers and business-y things and helps me out when he can, but mainly everything is on me. and i am slow and easily distract-OOH COOKIE, (nom nom nom) .... ahem... easily distracted so things might take me a little longer to do than all them young'uns out there on the internet.
but i just want to say, 2024 is the year, it's my goal to finally get this shop up, and hopefully soon! as well as crank out a bunch of new art and stop beating myself up about being so slow... it's not healthy... but i do need to work a little faster... leslie, you're not a turtle. (Tortle is a turtle, and he's probably faster than you!)
