The 15th Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday. My countdown starts today. In 15 days the new series of Doctor Who will begin. I got this idea last week and have been drawing furiously since. I call this my Golden Books style, it’s heavily inspired by the art of said books. The last time I did a countdown had to been ten years ago for the 50th anniversary.
Here, have some warm up sketches of Michael Sheen as Miles Maitland in “Bright Young Things”. I love the way he portrays this character and the costumes are beautiful. The whole flick is a lot of fun, I especially love all the party scenes. His face is a challenge to learn to draw, but once you get it you’ll just want to draw that upturned little nose of his all day.
It’s Peter Capaldi’s 66th birthday today. For funsies I thought I’d redraw this one I did back in 2015. I decided this go round to give him more of a Rockabilly look. Complete w wingtips. I feel like this is something I could see him wearing in Las Vegas in the 50s.
I’m OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS! I can draw just about anything, logos, family portraits, custom illustrations, sticker designs, surface designs, custom paper dolls, avatars, etc. I can find a price to suit all sorts of budgets. DM me for more details. Here are some examples of previous work.
Some unfinished studies from this week of our new Doctor and Ten w Jenny. Ncuti Gatwa is just beautiful and I’ve been itching to draw him since it was announced he’d be the fifteenth Doctor. I always enjoy the process of figuring out a new face that I just know I will become obsessed w and will be drawing for years to come. I’m a sucker for a good profile so all 3 of these subjects are perfect.
Here’s a piece I did back in November. I thought it’d be a fun exercise to recreate this scene in the style of Lichtenstein. I absolutely adore this show.
okay but can you even imagine
it's what we deserve
Need this energy applied to a story where they play scam artists who dislike everyone except each other
me never escaping good omens
🥺 (it's an episode of Columbo)
The Guardian out here asking the real questions.
Here’s some sketches of the 14th Doctor that I did back in December.
Here is the first piece of Good Omens fanart I did, from Dec. I was still figuring out Sheenie’s face at that time.
Between all my different projects I’m juggling I found some time to engage in more Good Omens brain rot. I think I’m starting to finally figure out the anomaly that is Sheen’s face. I love how smug his little face looks here.
This all started w a photo of Peter Capaldi on Twitter and I immediately thought well he’d be splendid as some alt version of Crowley in the 80s. I had to share this w my dear frand @katiebephoto and then that led us to who would be his Angel. As Katie put it so aptly “stares in Paul McGann”. Sorry to everyone in my feed who can’t be arsed about Good Omens but it will happen again.
best and worst things to put on toast go
Marmite and Vegemite hard pass. My personal fave is an avocado smash w feta and a poached egg on top that my husband makes. We call it a “struggling to cope” because of this Joe Lycett bit that I love.
That’s a Crowley Coded outfit if there ever was one. I couldn’t resist.
Me: I shouldn't disturb Neil Gaiman. I shouldn't send an ask unless I really have no way of getting the information otherwise. I'll check old interviews and all the articles that vaguely mention the subject. Of course it goes without saying that I'll read though the FAQ in its entirety. Only then, will I send an ask. However, I'd be very polite and praise his work, as anyone would. I'd also keep it short, because I don't want to waste his time. But I'd keep it very very respectful. I'd be sending a message to a very talented, amazing author that deals with god knows how many like me. Or I'd just stay in the dark and not send him an ask. Yeah, I'll do that.
