Not the Average Enterprise Life (Spock/Uhura child AU with calmofficeruhura)

  Nyota turned her head up and smiled to Spock before kissing his nose and sighing. She could feel all of his emotions running through her body. Allowing her body to relax she sent the feeling to him through their connection in hopes of relaxing him as well. 

"Oh Spock, you are really starting to feel like a father. Its a good sign, especially since she is so connected to you." Looking across the room to the crib that Zuri was now nestled into, Nyota thought back to her own childhood with her Father and Uncle. The many memories flooded over to Spocks body, her father teaching her how to defend herself, her uncle teaching her communications and so many more memories. 

"Shes growing at a wonderful rate at this point. She has been eating a lot lately and the Doctor said that she is a lot bigger then most babies. But its a good sign." Smiling she closed her eyes and allowed the connection to stay strong between herself and Spock.

He allowed his eyes to wander across the ceiling, thoughts scattered into a few tasks to focus on while he lied there. Sleep was unlikely at this point so all he could do now was count each wavering breath that fell from Zuri’s lips, his hearing so sensitive that even while in a mild connection with Nyota, he could hear her from across the room with ease.

"Her size presumably derived from my origins, Vulcan’s tend to be slightly larger than the average human. The average height for a fully grown, fully Vulcan male is well over 7 feet tall. As for me, being of both human and Vulcan origin, I am somewhere in between the two averages." And even though he may have been less than average for a Vulcan, he was certainly tall enough for Nyota, as he towered over her by almost a foot. Even kissing was quite amusing, as she had to step up on the tip of her toes in order to reach him every time. 

"Her growth will be strong and  rapid, I can guarantee that. my mother once described to me how I went from 9 pounds to 20 in the span of a month. She was almost frightened until my father explained." he quirked up a small smile at the memory, only imagining his mothers reaction to him, as he was too young to remember the exact thing. He really did miss those memories of his mother, and in the connection still joined between  Nyota and himself, he began to share a few of his most fond memories of his mother ,remaining silent as he did so in hopes that they would invoke a reaction of happiness in her, as he rarely shared these images with anyone.

Nyota couldn't help but smile happily as she felt the images begin to flow through them both. Letting her body relax into his she closed her eyes and slowly fell into a soft sleep. "t'hy'la I love you." 

~The Next Morning~

Nyota woke up at least two hours before she was due on the .She took the time to properly brush out her hair and put on her uniform before bathing and feeding Zuri, she dressed Zuri in a blue onesie with a black overall dress. After a hour of this routine she had grown so used to ,Nyota placed Zuri in her crib and went to the kitchen in the quarters to make breakfast for Spock. 

Quickly putting together a bowl of fruit and making a pot of earl grey tea, Nyota realized that she had missed this routine. She missed the early mornings waking up to make Spock tea. Now they where adding a new addition to their morning routine. 

Picking up little Zuri who was happily cooing in her crib, Nyota found herself pacing the room in anticipation. She was finally going back to work, six weeks of maternity leave, while still being on the ship, was enough to drive her insane.Taking a deep breath she walked over to Spock who was still asleep on the bed and carefully leaned down with Zuri in her arms. "Time to wake up mekino." Leaning over she kissed Spocks cheak gently. "Wake up t'hy'la. Time for the bridge to see mekino with his beautiful daughter."
