You’re rare so people are gonna fall in love with the idea of having you, but most of them aren’t used to rare, they’re foreign to it, so they’ll lack the capacity to treat you as such. And that’s where they lose you

My mom crocheted a blanket, and one of the cats kept trying to lay on it the whole time she was working on it and every time she put it down.

So she used the extra yarn to make him a tiny one and he loves it so much 😭

That’s a cat trying to spend quality time with its human. they want to participate in what you’re doing. that’s part of how they show “hey, I like you.” Same reason you’ll see cats sitting the same way near each other. If you’re messing with a blanket, the cat wants to at least lie on it to show interest in your interest. If you’re on the computer, chances are the cat’s going to try to sit on your keyboard at some point.

I love this owner’s strategy. It lets the cat still show its interest while also allowing the human to work in peace. Everyone’s happy.

This!! Everytime I see someone go "My cat wouldn't stop climbing on top of (x) thing I was using/working on, so I made him his own" I'm like, yes!! Quality cat parenting.

This is the oldest piece of music known to humankind. It’s engraved in cuneiform on a tablet from 1400 BC. And it was a hymn to their goddess Nikkal.

I wasn’t actually expecting something serious.

That was, um, actually unexpected.

What is this grand old instrument? It is almost ethereal to my ears!

I wish more ancient music was written down. It’d be interesting to study it!

Only 15th century BC kids will remember this bop

It would’ve likely originally been played on a sammûm, a bit like a lyre, in accompaniment of a singer.

Whilst its the oldest piece of music, it’s not complete (I believe the oldest complete song is the Seikilos Epitaph), so it’s transcription is controversial; there are a few differing decipherments.
