One of the best things about Tumblr, imo, is sometimes you can scroll through the awful content... But you don't then get it recommended to you.
On tiktok, you see some godawful opinion and you want a further look at what exact kind of crazy they are? Are they being ironic? Is this satire? Oh, no, they actually do think that... Ex. Women should belong to their husbands. Welp, you're now gonna have tradwife / terf / alt-right / trumpie content on your fyp for weeks because you scrolled that account for a few minutes. You keep pressing 'not interested' but tiktok believes you're a republican now.
Here, you see something crazy - let's say, uh, Human Pet Guy (rip, example would be before he deactivated obviously).
You see a post of his and you're like "Woah, wtf, is this satire or is he just like this?" You go to his blog to check and Tumblr does not assume looking at human pet guy's blog = you want a human pet and does not start bombarding you with human pet content. When you are done trying to understand how someone can think like that you can return to the safety of your dash, which remains unchanged.
Long live the hellsite, please don't give us weird new algorithms
just remembered the other day a teen approached me holding a rapidly melting chunk of ice in his hand and asked if i wanted to buy a "limited edition pet rock"
the climate of youtube as a platform makes me so depressed
youtube shorts. beautifully drawn commissioned thumbnails replaced with clickbait shocked reaction faces and red arrows because the video wasn't doing well. all caps video titles that don't even tell you what the video is. youtube shorts. the mr beast-ification of youtube. every video has to outdo the next. one a scale of 1 to 10. risk is not rewarded. youtube shorts. clips channels. youtube shorts.
we are living in the weirdest timeline

Massive PSA to ALL artists who may be on Twitter, please protect yourself. I just wiped all my art off that shit site, so unfortunately a lot of NSFW art that could be viewed on there will not be available. Some is available on Slasher app, and a bit on Pixiv. I will try to post old lewd art on pixiv and any relevant lewds on Slasher app. I'm really thinking of looking into just getting my own website to display all works uncensored depending on the cost.
To give more context on what the XAi program will be doing here is a link to an article with interview answers from the Mustyness himself:
A quote from said article:
'He also claimed that xAI’s use of Twitter data would not be much different from what many are already using the platform for, adding that it would primarily be used for “text training” and “image and video training.”
“I guess we will use the public tweets — obviously not anything private* — for training as well, just like basically everyone else has,” Musk said.'
He will be using data from private accounts, what Elon means is likely data of birthdates and addresses.
I added ALT descriptions now to the image, I didn't have time before (I'm working on an overly detailed art piece right now), I hope that helps all with screen readers!
I’ve seen a few ~aesthetic~ photos of rock stacks in rivers recently and this is just a reminder that you are destroying habitat when you move rocks around in rivers and streams.
In addition to dragonfly nymphs, rocky river beds are home to lots of other larval invertebrates like damselflies, mayflies, water beetles, caddisflies, stoneflies, and a bunch of dipterans. Not to mention lots of fish and amphibians!
Plus large scale rock stacking can change the flow of a stream and lead to increased erosion.
Anyway dragonfly for admiration:

Everything is something’s habitat. You might as well not go outside for fear of stepping on some larval beetle.
This is hugely missing the point. The idea is to enjoy what’s left of our natural spaces while having as little an impact as possible. It’s not difficult to avoid intentionally destroying habitat. I recommend looking into the Leave No Trace principle which is very important for conservation. Cynicism doesn’t help anything.
You can read more about Leave No Trace here.
A few rock stacks here and there wouldn’t have much of an impact alone. But in parks that see thousands or even millions of visitors each year, when you have people like you saying, “sure, literal scientists and park rangers are telling me not to do this, but surely that doesn’t apply to ME,” the effect is huge. Please attempt to see the bigger picture. You are not so special that YOU get to ignore the rules and continue intentionally destroying habitat even after you’ve been told it’s harmful.
The symptoms to look out for are fever, rash, headache, body aches, swollen lymph nodes, general GI symptoms and a crusty nasty looking area around the bite. Not all of these symptoms may be present but if you were bitten by a chigger in North Carolina and you don’t feel well, go to the doctor. Antibiotics can clear it right up but if left untreated, the fatality rate can be 40% for some strains.
Here’s a map of the places tested and the places where chiggers were found to be infected:
(Also, because I saw this in the notes, typhoid and typhus are radically different diseases. Typhoid is caused by salmonella and usually transferred through contaminated food and water while typhus is caused by several different bacteria and typically transferred by insect bite.)
Are you fucking kidding me
Warning for non North Carolinians. Stay off North Carolina beaches!
The beaches are the only part of the state that seems safe LMFAO

this is the funniest thing i have ever seen
Girls don't want to work. They want to think about fictional characters.

I’m back because YikYak died and the friends I made there suggested Tumblr as an alternative so now they can truly experience just how big of a whale nerd I am

There are 58 orcas in captivity worldwide (19 of which live at one of the three SeaWorld parks). There are 74 Southern Resident orcas left. Do with this information what you will.
???? What exactly is the point you’re trying to make here, tho???
You’re comparing an artificial “population” of orca that have been captured from very different parts of the world to an actual population that has existed for who knows how long.
