this blog is DEEEFINITELY on hiatus! i watched httyd 1 and 2 today and got absolutely no urge to write hiccup again, so for the time being he's dead as a doorknob. sorry about that! might pop back in, say. a year? maybe more?
LOOOVED httyd 2 though. bought the soundtrack immediately o u o good as always. i like it a lot.

Thankfully, the young woman managed to find the stool she had been sitting on earlier. All she could truly hope for was that her powers didn't flare up.
"Well, you see," she started, watching the boy in front of her. "I've heard stories. About what you did for the village and the dragons. Mind you now, they're only stories. But I want to know if they're true."
"Oh?"
He sat back on his stool but instead of slouching his back was straight, almost uncomfortably so in the face of the Queen. Hiccup laughed nervously. It wasn't something he liked to go into detail about.
"Uh, well, a lot of the stories are probably false, er... Except for one or two, I suppose." His fingers found their way to his desk and drummed against it absentmindedly. "What, uh -- what have you heard, exactly?"

"Oh- Well,I suppose you’re right. That would look awfully cluttered,wouldn’t it?" A small smile tugged at the corner of her mouth,keeping the eye contact. His opinion might have been to the point, but she appreciated it.
She watched,slightly amused, as he turned away and pointed to the bag. “Well no… No,I don’t think it was. And I don’t think anybody else has been in here except you~” With a laugh,Rapunzel stood and crossed the room,shooting the viking a charmed smile. “Why Hiccup,either we’ve got ghosts that just drops bags off at random,or you’re being humble.”
"What? Me? Humble?" The questions were accompanied with a scoff as he followed behind her slowly, but he could feel a red heat sear the back of his neck, the tips of his ears, knew it would slowly flush his cheeks as well if he didn't curb it. Humble wasn't a term used often for him.
"Nooooo," he continued, shaking his head ruefully. "I'd take aaall the credit if I could... Must be ghosts, surely, or -- or -- or, or, or, you know -- trolls!"

The princess spoke in a part mocking, part sarcastic tone. Honestly, she didn’t really want to get them, it was getting colder by the second and the grey clouds predicted rain any time soon. Although, if it meant they could go inside and thaw by the fire sooner then she would simply have to grin and bear that manky chicken coop.
“Fine then, Ah’ll get th’ eggs. But only if ye promise we can go inside afterwards.”
With the mocking came a flare of irritation and suddenly Hiccup wasn't feeling all that up to playing nice with the princess. He scowled and returned to his milking, tugging with perhaps a bit more force than necessary. The yak moaned in protest and he let up.
Instinctively he imitated, mockingly, her accent. "Yeah, we can go inside afterwards, and, you know..." His voice trailed off. Quieter. Sans accent. He had assumed she'd already gone off to the coop. "We would have been inside a lot faster if you'd tried to help earlier... But nooo. What, is it a delicate disposition you've got or something, Princess? Aw. Wee lass."
