"What have I done now?"
“… Must I remind you of the incident with the gargoyle from the North-West tower?”
“That one wasn’t my fault. Besides, it was so hideously tacky, I did you a service.”
“It was an original of the castle. Detaching it from the original stone and proceeding to push it off was not a wise course of action, Walter.”
He paused to sigh, not normally being one to worry over material things.. Even still it was his grandfather’s castle. At the very least it would be a wise action to attempt to maintain it.
“You could have, at the very least, taken it to the basement where some of the originals have remained for some time now.”
“First of all; I did not push it off its pedestal. It, uh- merely fell over due to its size.” He says, his brief pause indicating that he was not quite as truthful as he was acting to be.
“Yes, I very well could have. But, I am afraid that it was a bit too heavy for me to pick up. Honestly, I did try to pick it up. Swear on my father’s grave, I did. But, eh- I left it there.”
The young boy sighed and nodded. Not everyone was as strong as he was. Even so he was.
“..My apologies. At least no there is no risk of it cracking and crushing someone by accident. Thank you, Walter.”
