Hey guys we're all the capsule types supposed to give a Vista and button eye or is only one of them the lucky one?

I opened my capsule right as the site went down for maintenance and only received the button eye Vista. Was that intended and I just got extremely unlucky or was that supposed to happen? I opened the red capsule

The site went down for maintenance to fill the capsules to avoid players opening empty or partially filled capsules. If you didn't receive the full contents of the capsule, please send us a message through Contact Us. Support will verify the following before sending out any items:

  • The email address is registered to your Flight Rising account.
  • When you opened your capsule.
  • What items you received when you opened your capsule.

If everything checks out, we'll get you your eye vial ASAP.

April o'Neil and Casey Jones (circa 1987).

Casey wishes that was a hockey stick. April wishes that any apparel looked remotely like a video camera. I wish that my favourite turtle continuity didn't have copy paste turtles because am I really going to get four identical dragons?

But for now I have these troublemakers.

Hi there! Happy to clarify the question in your tags :D

#(Why are you banning ALL religious imagery when... You could just ban religious discrimination?)
Discrimination & Hatred This includes but is not limited to content or links to content which promotes discrimination or hatred of or insultingly refers to: • Any race, nation, or culture • Any aspect of sexual orientation or gender identity • Religions or religious figures • Real-world political figures • Physical or mental disabilities
Religious imagery is already not allowed for skins and accents as we do not want real-world religious imagery, iconography, etc on our site or directly tied to our brand/IP.

If we allow religious images on the site, there are two issues:

  • It creates a perception of our brand with religion and we're a 2D virtual pet browser game set in a fantasy world
  • Allowing religious imagery would mean allowing images created in defiance or criticism of a religion as well, which can include images of what some may categorize as desecration or blasphemy.

What the second point means is, we'd have to allow the images made in protest. Some are going to find those images deeply offensive while others would find them a self-affirming cry of defiance in the face of oppression.

That's going to get messy and very time-consuming, with vetting and moderating of individual intent across countless images, icons, religions, and critique thereof.

I hope this helps!

I'm just gonna say it's really weird how you almost immediately found my post and decided to make a response on it instead of making your own post. That feels somewhat unprofessional considering you're a moderator, and I am just a player, and you could easily make a clarification of your own instead of singling mine out.

The thing I'm most confused about though is that... There is already religious imagery on Flight Rising, through Auraboas and Coatls. They are explicitly based off of Quatlzcoatl, an Aztec God. Just because Quatlzcoatl is from an older religion doesn't necessarily mean that he isn't a religious figure, he just isn't commonly worshipped. Auraboas are also based off the ouroboros concept, which is also in itself religious.

How can these concepts exist, but any other imagery isn't allowed? The only answer I can really think of is that only religions that aren't commonly practiced today (IE Aztec, Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek, Norse) are allowed. But even then, that excludes Pagans that do worship these figures. Could you please elaborate on that part? Because my takeaway from this update, as of right now, is that stories involving inspiration from any religion's stories are not allowed. Which is... Sort of impossible, considering just how much in our world is built off of religions and their stories.

Hello again! Happy to clarify where I can.

  1. I'm the Community and Social Media Manager for Flight Rising.
  2. Flight Rising has been active on this platform since before going live (2013) and I've been active on this platform as the Community and Social Media Manager since 2014.
  3. Your post was at the top of the #Flight Rising tag which we regularly check.
  4. As noted in our update earlier today:
Depending on how it’s framed, misinformation posted to our site may receive an official response or it may be moderated. If we come across misinformation on social media platforms we’re present and active on, we may address it on that platform.
Okay, that’s slightly inaccurate—I’ll likely be the one addressing it on my staff persona account. So don’t be surprised if you get a reblog or response from me with a correction if you’re posting misinformation.
And while we don’t currently utilize the available software suites available to businesses that scan social media for brand mentions, you should know that misinformation posted to our established tags on social media is seen by our team and considered fair game for clarifications.

(Noting here, yours was posed as question and not as misinformation; and clarifying where players may be confused, even on social, is part of my job)

This policy includes but is not limited to religious images and iconography that are internationally or officially recognized icons of organized religions. They are not allowed on the site. This also applies to imagery and iconography that exists in direct opposition to, deconstruction of, or desecration of the imagery or iconography of recognized organized religions.
Themes that have been adopted into sci-fi or fantasy media (such as alchemy, wizardry, celestial, or abyssal themes, etc) do not fall under this definition at this time.

The last part is relevant to some of your concerns. And regarding this question

Because my takeaway from this update, as of right now, is that stories involving inspiration from any religion's stories are not allowed.

Today's Religion & Politics policy update is about religious images and iconography, not stories.

I still find this whole situation a little weird, but okay.

Thank you for clarifying about the stories part, as a writer myself I was worried if I would find myself in trouble for simply using a religion's stories or themes within my writing, even when it's sort of impossible to avoid them.

You still haven't really answered my question about Auraboas and Coatls, why do they get to look and have inspiration from an Aztec God, whilst similar imagery from another God isn't allowed? If your answer is supposed to be in 'Sci-fi/fantasy imagery and themes', that still doesn't make sense because Quatlzcoatl is very much recognizable as an Aztec God, even as he has become more appropriated by mainstream media.

Sorry for asking so many questions, I like when things are very clear and specific, so I want to be absolutely sure I'm understanding everything correctly because the original update is phrased so confusingly.

Apologies, had to tend to a few things for a minute! The answer to your question is that today's update in the Religion & Politics policy takes the existing rule prohibiting religious images in skins and accents and expands it to cover the entire site. The only thing new is that this rule is now being applied site wide.
