!!! WE ARE APPROACHING THE LAUNCH OF MY COMIC !!!

Substitute Magical Girl is about a trans magical girl, her mysterious can of soup, and a ragtag magical friend group. When Astrid Cazuela is approached by a human soul sealed away in a soup can, she is presented with a mutually beneficial opportunity - “For just a few days, place your soul in my body! Become the magical girl I’m unable to be, and break the seal on me!” After Astrid’s reluctant acceptance, she begins to feel weird about both her loaned body and her own. As the deadline approaches, the temporary nature of the deal becomes more and more stressful. When the time comes to return her loaned body to its owner, how will returning to her own body effect her?

Substitute Magical Girl launches January 1st, 2023 at 10pm EST!!! Mark your calendars!

Sometimes you have to see discourse and go “wow, so you don’t understand the character or the material” and then leave. For your own mental state.

Sometimes you have to see canon and do this

"making white men feel insecure about how they look is fine lol"

"hurting a group a people for something they can't control is fine if I make it sound progressive lol"

"being a bad person on the inside makes you ugly on the outside"

do I even need to say what's wrong with this. like there are going to be plenty of people you find attractive who are bad people and plenty of people you find unattractive who are good people. I know ugly = bad in storybooks and cartoons but that doesn't mean it's true

you can criticize someone for being a bad person without calling them ugly. you can just criticize their actions. like you not finding them attractive has nothing to do with something someone did wrong. your taste in aesthetics has nothing to do with someone else's moral failings

Not to mention that beauty standards are largely rooted in a mixture of classism, ableism, racism, antisemitism, etc. Even if the target of your ridicule doesn't belong to any marginalized groups said beauty standards were designed to outcast, it still perpetuates those ideas.

Oh you're making fun of someone for bad teeth? Yeah congrats on pointing out that they don't have proper dental care. A wide neck? That's associated with Down's Syndrome. A big nose? Wow I sure do wonder why Europeans started hating big noses.

Makes sense. I mean, a passenger of a cruise line isn't called a sailor, right? Astronaut literally means "star sailor."

Huge oversight on my part you're absolutely right
