Koi Fish Diamond Painting - Completed and framed

To frame this huge (40x80 cm) and heavy DP I have used Ikea Visback poster hangers. They prove to be a great « framing » solution. They are super versatile and not permanent, meaning, you can easily change the piece of art you want to hang. The clips are super strong. The best thing about these hangers is that they are under 10$ CAD ! They come in two sizes, 40 and 60 cm.

Koi Fish Pond Diamond Painting - Completed

Another one done. Looks good but this canvas from Shopanydeals was really crappy. Not sticky at all, dusry drills and horrible customer services. A real nightmare. It is 40x80 cm.

Ok 👌 this Huacan DP is so challenging that you are doing two hours of black square diamonds or two hours of confetti and still look like you have done nothing at all! But, it is going to look awesome! https://www.instagram.com/p/CLqQvz2sUuG/?igshid=xlqbvj80e9sp

Hey Sparkly friends, here’s my latest completed DP.

This is a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Special Edition. I bought this kit from the Aliexpress Homfun store as a gift for my father. As advertised, this canvas is a true 50x50 cm with round drills. 43 colours and around 38 000 drills. Cost: $25.50 CAD shipping included. It took 45 days for this order to arrive here in Quebec from China and the box was really damaged and the canvas badly wrinkled and needed extra care to get flat. When I did the inventory, everything was accounted for but there was an error in the inventory cause I would have required around 200 more #3756! I had to use another colour to finish this DP. The drills were a hassle... lots of trash and many bags had static in them... But, overall this DP was fun to do and it looks gorgeous. The car and the background look amazing. The details on the car are just perfect.

As a framing solution, I just wrapped my diamond painting around an artist canvas that was on sale for only $5! So, accounting the missing and staticky drills, the condition of the canvas upon arrival but the gorgeous rendition of the car, I give this kit 3 out of 5 stars.

Two completed diamond paintings from the Mycella Official Store on Aliexpress - Part 2 of 2

Hey diamond friends, here are completed and framed diamond paintings from the Mycella store.

They are from the same series. Drill area on both of these is 30x30 cm. That’s around 14 400 diamonds for each painting. Both are square drills and double-adhesive. Ordered them in August and it only took 20 days to get here in Quebec Canada from China. They came with an inventory sheet with DMC numbers. The drills came in cellophane packets and the kit contained a pen pink, small white funnel boat, pink wax, metallic tweezers and a couple of resealable baggies.

Loved working on these. The canvases were super sticky and the drills were of great quality. The diamonds are really sparkly even behind the acrylic pane from the frame. Had more than enough drills and almost no trash. A couple of symbols were annoying like the use of U, u, X, x. Also, I did not care about the black grid over the white parts of the painting... there is a bit of gaping here and there and the black kind of shows. Except for that, the overall effect is pretty amazing. Since I was giving them to friends as gifts, I framed them. Found these cute frames at Ikea, they are called Lumviken and only cost $9.99 can each. The canvases themselves cost $18 can shipping included. I highly recommend this store.

How I framed a big-size diamond painting.

I really didn’t know how I was going to frame this DP. The canvas is 80x30 cm and the drill area 75x25 cm. I looked at magnetic poster frames but the magnets would not have been strong enough and I would have had to glue or tack the DP to the bar. Also, I was pretty sure the DP would have buckled because of its width. I also considered making my own frame but it seemed like a lot of work. And, I definitely could not wrap it over an artist’s canvas because that implied loosing a bit of the image on the sides and I didn’t want to do this since the points of interest of this image are the two birds on each side. I was afraid it would end up looking a bit empty in the middle. Furthermore, I had no intention of spending a ton of money on a custom frame. I wanted a budget-friendly solution.

I ended up going to Michael’s and I found a cheap 90x30 cm plastic poster frame with an acrylic cover. Cost? Only, $20 ! I took out the cardboard backing and gave it 2 coats of black paint. Then I trimmed the excess on my canvas and just glued it with double-sided adhesive tape. Voila, it’s done. And, it looks pretty cool... If I may say so myself. My pictures are not super clear and it’s hard to see but the canvas is still super sparkly and the DP lays perfectly flat on the cardboard backing.

1.99$ hanging solution for a small diamond painting... just glue it on a foam bord and tape a ribbon or something else on the back. Here, I have used a cord handle from a gift bag.

Boston Terrier Diamond Painting from the Touoilp store on Aliexpress

This cute little guy is completed, framed, and even given as a gift. This DP was a dream from start to finish. I loved working on it so much ! The canvas was superb quality and really, really sticky. Even when I was framing it, by wrapping it over an artist canvas, I did not loose one drill ! The drills themselves are super sparkly and the colours are really bright. When I was done I realized that I had almost no trash, a coupe of drills, no more than 10. I did a bit of customization on this little guy (forehead and top of skull) so his markings would match my friend’s dog. This was my first DP from the Touoilp store and it’s definitely not my last one. I loved how it was equal part colour-blocking and confetti. Overall, it also looks really good. It has lots of depth and the shading is really perfect.

Drill area is 45x45 cm and I have used a 40x40 cm canvas to frame it. The drills were round and the canvas double-adhesive. There was 30 colours and 25 281 drills ! It took only 24 days to arrive here in Quebec from China and the kit was well packaged. The symbols were easy to read but they had “training wheels”. Cost was 22.14$ CAD shipping included and the artist canvas only cost me 9.99$.

Unboxing Diamond Painting from Sophie Beauty Store on Aliexpress

Hey guys, today I have an unboxing from Sophie Beauty.

Here’s the link, if you are interested.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32764847065.html

This DP is part of a collection of 5 similar muted pastel images featuring women, flowers and butterflies. They all are really really beautiful. I had a hard time picking just one!

The one I got is a true 40 x 40 cm, the drills are square, the canvas is the double-adhesive type, there are 41 colours in this DP and 32 000 diamonds. I paid $20.47 CAD shipping included for this beauty. It took only 18 days to get here in Quebec from China. Nice! The painting arrived in good condition but there are rivers on the canvas. One goes almost completely from one side of the canvas to the other. So, I took my exacto knife and tried to fix them... I guess we’ll see if the canvas is ok once I start working on it.

The drills are ok. The samples I took lined well in the tray. The colours are beautiful but I am missing a bag. I contacted the seller and they replied that they were going to send the missing diamonds in a timely manner. So, unfortunately, I will have to put this one aside until I get the drills.

Hope you liked this unboxing post. Next week, I’ll have a post-review for you. See you then!!

Eyeglasses Cases / Storage Boxes from the DreamscomeTrue AliExpress Store

Hey guys, look what I did last night ! Aren’t they cute? I got them from the Dreamscome True AliExpress store.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000493530509.html

These are just great ! They feel like real leather and they are very sturdy. They have a strong magnetic closure mechanism and are of great quality. They were fun to do and sparkle like crazy... Even though, I sealed them with Modpodge Super Gloss. I know these cases will probably be shoved in purses and handled a lot and I do not want the rhinestones to fall off.

Super fun snack-size projects that make great gifts. I give them a 5/5 stars. Shipping from China to Quebec took only 15 days! I paid only $22.76 CAD shipping included for the three boxes. They arrived in great shape. I had plenty of rhinestones left. They each came with the usual kit (pink pen, green boat and pink wax). Will definitely buy again.

Shopanydeals.com Chickadees and Cherry Tree Blossoms Diamond Painting - COMPLETED
Shopanydeals.com Chickadees and Cherry Tree Blossoms Diamond Painting - COMPLETED
Yesss I did it. Here’s my review. Even though it was a pretty large DP, drill area was 25x75 cm, it took me around 17 days to complete it. I worked on it around one to two hours a day. It was really fun to do. I love the mixed of confetti and colour blocking sections. I alternated working on the background and on the more detailed sections like the birds, the flowers and the branches. Chickadees are my favorite birds, I love waking up in the morning to the sound of their chirping.
The painting looks amazing. The background has a lot of depth with the different shades of blues and teals. The diamonds are pretty sparkly.... BUT the drills are popping off !!! Dang!! Sooo, I may have to seal it. I hate that. And, how do I frame this sucker !? I do not want to pay for custom framing. I am looking for an affordable solution. I have looked at artist’s canvas to stretch it over, poster frames... there is nothing near this size.
So, for all these reasons, I’m giving it a 3.5 /5 stars. Fun to do, looks good but the diamonds are falling off and it is difficult to come up with a framing solution... but ain’t these the cutest chickadees!

Yes, another unboxing post. Sorry guys... But this one will probably be my last one for a while.

Diamond Painting Unboxing: Easywhim Wolf and Woman CTR-1103

Canvas: 60x40 cm. Drill area: 50x35 cm.

Round diamonds.

Double-adhesive canvas.

40 beautiful and vibrant colours... DMC code and inventory sheet. Yeah!

Purchased it from Easywhim.com. Cost: $42.30 CAD shipping included.

Ordered June 19th, package was shipped June 20th and it got here in Quebec August 7th... around 50 days for delivery, that’s way too long... but let’s blame it on the Covid situation.

Here is the link for this gorgeous painting:

https://easywhim.com/products/wolf-and-woman-diy-5d-diamond-painting-full-drill

The painting arrived in good condition. The box was damaged and badly crushed on one end but the canvas looks ok. Can’t tell for the moment if there are any rivers or bubbles... I’ll check that when I’ll start to work on it. The symbols are easy to read and there are no “training wheels”.

The drills look clean and the colours are beautiful BUT Intruder Alert !! See picture... there are a lot of misplaced diamonds. There is at least one or two “intruders” or “strays” in most of the bags. But the kit compensates a bit for this... Yes, indeed, the kit is quite good: white pen with squishee, two multi-placers, sharp tweezers, a white funnel boat, resealable baggies and two big chunks of pink wax. Nice!

Can’t wait to start to work on this one. Hope it looks as good as the image on the Easywhim website. I like the theme of this painting and the colours in it. I hope the images in her hair and in the wolf’s fur are detailed enough so we can see the fall, the mountains, the greenery in them. I hope that this details are not lost in a sea of colours. Well, we’ll see !! Can’t wait to show it to you once it’s completed.

Unboxing Shopanydeals.com Koi Fish Pond QF 300

Canvas: 45x85 cm. Drill area: 39x79 cm. Yes, it’s big!!

Round diamonds, poured-glue canvas, 27 colours, DMC code but no inventory sheet.

Bought it from Shopanydeals.com Cost: $15.99 USD + $7.99 shipping. The package was shipped on July the 14th and it got here in Quebec July 29th. 17 days !!! That was super fast!

https://shopanydeals.com/products/shopanydeals-fish-full-round-diamond-painting85-45cm-384754

The painting arrived a bit rippled since it was shipped rolled in a bag... but nothing that a couple of days under heavy books won’t fix. The canvas and the drills look great... except for the black (310) which are really dusty. I hate that. The symbols are easy to read and are not printed with training wheels. The kit is the usual pink pen, pink wax and green boat.

This is my first big size DP and I am really excited to start working on it. I think it is going to look FABULOUS! It looks like a good quality DP. Can’t wait to show it to you once it’s completed.

Unboxing Tinmi Arts The Witch’s Black Cat F008

Canvas: 40x50 cm. Drill area: 31.5x40.5 cm

Square diamonds, poured-glue canvas, 20 colours, DMC code but no inventory sheet.

Bought it from Amazon.ca, cost was $19.99 CAD shipping included and it got here in Quebec in 29 days.

https://www.amazon.ca/Painting-Christmas-Rhinestone-Embroidery-Sticker/dp/B07L2DD5XW

The painting arrived a bit crinkled since it was shipped rolled in a bag... but nothing that a couple of days under heavy books won’t fix. The canvas is just great. It is really thick and it feels like soft but sturdy cotton. I also appreciate the plastic film which is thicker than what you usually see. The canvas is also unusually sticky and the glue is super glossy.

As for the drills, they look really good. They are sparkly and clean except for the black 310 which are a bit oily. The square diamonds line up well in the tray and they come in resealable baggies.

The symbols are clear and easy to read. The kit is the usual pink pen, pink wax and green boat.

This is my first square DP, so I am excited to do it. I am going to try to complete it before Halloween. I think it is going to look great. It looks like a good quality DP. I am just a bit worried on how the cat’s whiskers and the moon are going to look. Also, the kit came with the symbol/colour index printed on a separate sheet of paper with the mention “Don’t use chart on canvas, use this chart”... Can’t wait to show it to you once it’s completed.
