no one probably cares but as wii u and 3ds modding (especially wii u) is my area of expertise (haha weird silly obsessions go brrrrrr) im gonna add some stuff here. 1. this is *not* time sensitive as far as im concerned. for wii u both dnspresso and the traditional web browser exploit DO NOT require nintendo's servers, only a working internet connection, which you will still have even after the servers shut down. the servers are shutting down, not the wifi module in your console (contrary to popular belief). iirc to mod a new 3ds you just need to do a camera exploit, which similarly shouldnt require nintendo's official servers. can't remember about old 3ds tho. 2. there ARE custom servers in the making!!! https://pretendo.network have been working on reviving the nintendo network servers for years now, and for the next few months they'll need as much support as they can get because the real servers will no longer be alive to reverse engineer from. it's for both wii u and 3ds. 3. modding does *not* impose any risks on your console, as long as you follow these specific written guides sent by the lovely op. video guides can be outdated with new developments in the homebrew scene and so it often causes problems for people doing tech support (such as myself) when the whole issue was an outdated file linked in the description. these written guides are regularly updated. trust me, im a disaster and i didnt brick either of my consoles. also, modding != piracy!! modding enables piracy but theres a flourishing modding community outside of piracy too :] 4. stop reading my stupid reblog and go mod your consoles (after youve bought an sd card or 2 that is - preferably go for 128gb formatted as fat32 - use guiformat for this)!!!! ill add more stuff if i remember but thats it for now

As a former humanities student, I feel it is my duty to reblog this one.

A tech bro tried to convince me AI was amazing cause "you could make 30,000 screenplays in minutes" not realising that every single one would be shit, you'd have to sift through everything just to find some good bits, time wasted that could've been spent just writing a screenplay.

Technology Brothers know nothing about what goes into creating a work, other than the fact a work has been created to be exploited for cash. They see creativity as an investment opportunity, not a love for humanity.

Matthew Dow Smith: "Just remember: Arts & Humanities are so useless and pointless that Tech Bros were driven to spend billions of dollars to try and get a computer to do something that badly approximates something Arts & Humanities students could do half asleep and wired on coffee the night before the due date."

What I was taught growing up: Wild edible plants and animals were just so naturally abundant that the indigenous people of my area, namely western Washington state, didn't have to develop agriculture and could just easily forage/hunt for all their needs.

The first pebble in what would become a landslide: Native peoples practiced intentional fire, which kept the trees from growing over the camas praire.

The next: PNW native peoples intentionally planted and cultivated forest gardens, and we can still see the increase in biodiversity where these gardens were today.

The next: We have an oak prairie savanna ecosystem that was intentionally maintained via intentional fire (which they were banned from doing for like, 100 years and we're just now starting to do again), and this ecosystem is disappearing as Douglas firs spread, invasive species take over, and land is turned into European-style agricultural systems.

The Land Slide: Actually, the native peoples had a complex agricultural and food processing system that allowed them to meet all their needs throughout the year, including storing food for the long, wet, dark winter. They collected a wide variety of plant foods (along with the salmon, deer, and other animals they hunted), from seaweeds to roots to berries, and they also managed these food systems via not only burning, but pruning, weeding, planting, digging/tilling, selectively harvesting root crops so that smaller ones were left behind to grow and the biggest were left to reseed, and careful harvesting at particular times for each species that both ensured their perennial (!) crops would continue thriving and that harvest occurred at the best time for the best quality food. American settlers were willfully ignorant of the complex agricultural system, because being thus allowed them to claim the land wasn't being used. Native peoples were actively managing the ecosystem to produce their food, in a sustainable manner that increased biodiversity, thus benefiting not only themselves but other species as well.

So that's cool. If you want to read more, I suggest "Ancient Pathways, Ancestral Knowledge: Ethnobotany and Ecological Wisdom of Indigenous Peoples of Northwestern North America" by Nancy J. Turner

It's gonna be such a funny mess when Donald Trump dies of a stroke on April 1st, 2024.

  • Naturally everybody will think it's fake because of the date only to lose their minds (both positively and negatively based on their opinion of trump) when realizing it's real
  • There will be massive celebrations in the streets and on social media and lots of predictable "don't speak ill of the dead" discourse about those celebrations
  • Weird evangelicals will pull some weird number trick talking about how Jesus was conceived on April 1st and that makes Trump a sort of messiah and people will make fun of that
  • The Republicans (after they're done with the faux-sadness and faux-outrage) will stomp over each other to be his successor but none of them will succeed. They'll tear each other apart and have no single nominee for the November elections.
  • There will be discourse about if Biden and the living former presidents should go to his funeral (they won't, he was a traitor insurrectionist)
  • The Ukraine-Russia War immediately goes in favor of Ukraine as morale in the Kremlin is reduced. China similarly backs off from its threats on Taiwan.
  • Ten thousand new memes are made, some sticking around for years to come.
  • Not a month later a bunch of unofficial biographies of Trump hit the bookshelves, many with new details about just how awful he was.

Good evening tumblr how is everyone it seems I have a dog now

1. She has apparently be roaming the surrounding three counties for MONTHS but no one could get close to her.

2. several people chased her off by throwing rocks at her and/or shooting bb guns at her

3. This might have something to do with how skittish she was

4. Poor thing is skinny as fuck. She was hiding under our deck. we put out food for her and talked quietly to her a few days running.

5. This convinced her that we were OK humans, and she finally came up to us, whining and begging for any scrap of affection

6. No chip. No one claimed her when we asked around and consulted facebook lost and found pets.

7. By this point she has decided that we are Her Pack now and like it was RAINING and COLD we couldn’t make her stay OUTSIDE

8. We got her a collar and leash and treats and….

9. Fuck

She’s still wary of people who are not us, but then a week ago she was starving and fleeing people who were taking potshots at her with bb guns. But even just in the last couple of days, she’s gone from putting herself between me and An Threat (my mother) and being ready to defend me to the death to nervously accepting treats from my mom and then hiding her head in my lap because that was Scary.

The cats were at first convinced that she was a wolf come to eat them. They’re coming around though.

We think she’s a Great Pyr mix of some sort, heavy on the Great Pyr. We also thought she was light brown but that was two baths ago and turns out she’s a lovely white.

Bottom right was when she first showed up a week ago and wouldn’t let us near her. Bottom left and top right are three days ago when she realized we were nice humans. Top left is 22 seconds ago.

If anyone is wondering how the girl is, she weighed 59 pounds when I first got her to the vet, shortly after these first photos were taken.

Last time she was at the vet two months ago to get her vaccination boosters, she weighed 83 pounds and is actually fairly lean and in good shape under the Metric Assload of Fluff

The beast in her most recent two beauty shots

Starship crew who cycles through many captains every year because the captains keep dying in increasingly bizarre plots.

The officers are on a first name basis with all the baillifs and guards in the court-martial building.

A Star Trek-like show but the ship's captain is different each time and the framing device of every episode is the cast of officers telling the investigators how the captain died this time.

How I Lost My Captain - Fridays 9pm on Fox

Okay, but it would only get one season on Fox before the fandom saved it by sending it to streaming or another network.

How I Lost My Captain would run for 9 seasons from 1996-2005 with a theatrical release in 2007, coinciding with the golden age of space exploration shows and workplace/friend-group comedies.
