Summary: Tony Stark and Loki, to defeat Thanos, both dove for Loki’s scepter at the same time. The Mind gem at the heart of it opened them up to one another and brought them quickly to consensus for its own self-preservation, but the side-effects included both of them staring for a bit too long into one another’s brains.

This is an interlude shortly after.

AN: I originally wrote this for a different prompt, but didn’t manage to finish it, and I finally came back to it, and it became a bit fluffier than I originally intended, but it made me smile. So, after a whole month of writing far too much, far too quickly, here have something actually short and sweet.

It might have amounted to nothing if not for an impulsive spell the trickster applied to Tony’s throat pre-defenestration, which gave him easier access, even while incarcerated, to Tony’s dreams. Loki hadn’t imagined quite how willing, perverse, and challenging the mere mortal would prove to be, in time.
