Cleveland-based group Meridian were founded a few years back by the Stern brothers, Jake and Max (the latter also of Signals Midwest), as a folksy, acoustic duo, but the songs the Sterns wrote soon warranted a full band—thus Meridian's current incarnation
PSYCHED to announce our brand new split 7″ with Pinch Hitter from Sydney, Australia. The 7″ features a new song from each band and a reworked version of a song from each of our catalogs. It’s a split label release between Youth Conspiracy Records (USA) and Lost Boy Records (Australia) - truly an international production. You can stream a brand-new song of ours called “Laila, I’m Sorry” over at Substream. Pre-order the 7″ from Youth Conspiracy (USA) HERE and Lost Boy Records (Australia) HERE. Pre-orders will ship out around May 19, barring any vinyl delays. This split took about two years to bring to life and we’re ecstatic to finally be putting it into the world. We are proud to announce that our new album, 'The Cathedral,' will be released August 19, 2014 on Youth Conspiracy Records. The AV Club will be debuting the title track from the album this Monday, June 30. More details, including a vinyl pre-order, will be announced soon. This record has been in the works for the better part of the past two years and we are thrilled to finally be sharing it with the world.

I spent the entire month of September writing and recording one song every day. You can listen, download and donate (if you'd like to) HERE.
A digital album with all 30 songs is available as a name-your-price download complete with artwork, handwritten and typed lyrics, and a little explanation about each song. This was a totally exhausting project and not every song is great, but there are a few that I'm quite proud of and they wouldn't have existed if I hadn't forced myself to sit down every day and make something.

We leave for our first tour ever on Friday. Most of these shows take place in living rooms / basements / community spaces. Most are donation-based.
