Okay, but also: if you see a Muslim praying in public and they have something in front of them, like a purse or a bag or something like that, you can pass in front of them, but pass in front of that object.
it’s called a sutrah, and it’s meant to act as a physical barrier between the person praying and someone who might happen to pass in front.
Also, if you did this and didn’t know, please don’t beat yourself up over it. Now you know! Muslims aren’t supposed to pass in front of Muslims praying, either, because prayer is communication with God and you don’t want to break that connection.

On Aug. 5, 2014, John Crawford III and his girlfriend, Tasha Thomas, went shopping at a Wal-Mart in Beavercreek, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. They planned to buy marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers to make s’mores at a family cookout.
While on the phone with the mother of his two children, Crawford picked up a toy BB rifle. Another customer, Ronald Ritchie, 24, called 911, claiming that Crawford was waving a gun and pointing it at customers.
Officers immediately arrived at the scene, including Officer Sean Williams, who shot and killed Crawford. The Beavercreek police claimed that Crawford ignored their commands to put the weapon down.
The store surveillance video that was released showed Crawford standing in the aisle by himself carrying the toy gun. When police arrived, he was immediately shot, contradicting claims that they had given Crawford orders to drop the gun.
Ritchie, who made the initial 911 call, later recanted his claims about having seen Crawford wave the gun and point it at customers. ….. [A year later]…
1. No police officers were indicted in Crawford’s death.
2. The trial date for a federal lawsuit is set for Feb. 13, 2017.
3. An Ohio lawmaker has proposed “John Crawford’s Law.”
I am against the proposed law because it doesn’t address the problem at all. The issue was not that the gun wasn’t brightly colored.. The problem is that in America it is still okay for the police to murder Black people. The person who called the police lied and then the police lied. Where is the justice for this man?

why does their ignorance get to trump my existence? Why does their ignorance get to trump my emotions? Why am I expected to be calm and collected when presented with transphobia just because they didn’t realize transphobia is bad? Why am I expected to be a teacher when my field of study choice is psychology? Why am I expected to do this for every cis person I ever encounter?
Am I not allowed my own sentience? Must I live to make cis people happy?
Transphobia isn’t always obvious, sometimes it appears in expecting trans people to turn any situation into a classroom to discuss ultra private aspects of their lives.

They were a bunch of people who collectively said “fuck America” and then spent years desperately fighting in order to not be Americans anymore. Flying the Confederate flag doesn’t honor Americans, it honors Confederates, and they don’t exist anymore because they lost the war, so there is no goddamn point to this flag ever at all. Right-wing folks really love to talk about “anti-American sentiments” and “treason” until it comes to the (white) people who actually did commit treason and were anti-American in every sense of the word.
