Twitch has Autism Speaks listed as one of its official charities. so im thinking a Fuck Autism Speaks stream that raises funds for the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (and maybe has some members of ASAN or other Autistic self advocates come and speak on it?) might be in order….
Or maybe you could just support the good because it’s a good thing instead of supporting the good thing because you hate the bad thing. I’m on your side but I want my existence and support of it to mean more than open spite and hate
Listen, Autism Speaks is an incredibly popular charity. Sesame Street has worked with them. They popularized the completely falsified statistic that 90% of parents who have an Autistic child wind up divorced. People need to be made aware of why it’s not a good idea to partner with AS so that situations like this stop happening. IDK what kind of like emotional purity wavelength you’re on but i’m autistic and i hate autism speaks and me and my homies will have a ball of a time saying fuck AS and letting everyone on the twitch platform know why we feel that way. It is vitally important that more people understand why that organization is so damaging, that is a social good unto itself, and this is a pro hater event
