At One...

The moon, uninhibited by the clouds, shines brightly in the sky. 

The moonbeams filter through the dense, forest trees, softly illuminating the forest floor.

The forest is still, silent, save for the occasional noise of a nocturnal animal or the snapping of a twig.

Her footsteps are light as she runs along the path.  The occasional skip or twirl as she makes her way to her favorite place.

Her long, dark curls trail behind her as the deep crimson red fabric of her dress billows in waves as she runs.

She is unafraid of the night.

In fact, she loves it, relishes it as it is when she feels the most free.

She giggles as she runs along, the moon reflecting on her alabaster skin, her lips as red as the dress she dons.

Her eyes are ablaze with excitement as she comes to a clearing.

She stops running and stills.

A smiles crosses her beautiful features.

She steps cautiously up onto the large, flat rock that overlooks the town below.

The lights of the town meet the light of the stars and she breathes out a sigh of happiness.

She sinks down onto the rock, laying herself upon it, the warmth from the sun still felt under her hands.

She closes her eyes as she presses herself against the rock.

It soothes her, welcomes her.

She feels at peace with herself.

Calm within herself.

At one.

I do not tend to celebrate this day, but I did feel the need to give something personal to my darling @lokis-ice-queen.  Happy Valentine’s Day my darling heart...

Seems I'm about to view a film regarding a fellow in a red and black costume...this should be...interesting...
