So I heard you like video games

I was shilling for GW2 a while back when it was on sale, but now it’s even better - it has a free trial coming up in two days! GW2 is the only MMO I’ve ever liked enough to stick with long term (and the only one I’ve gotten characters to level cap with). While it’s not perfect (morons in mapchat, the occasional battle bikini), it has a lot going for it. Including: — No subscription fee. No $15 a month, every month, forever. You pay once and unless you want some goodies from the cash shop (more character slots, special outfits, etc) you never have to pay again. (You can also buy cash shop items with in-game gold.) No feeling like you HAVE to play the game right now to get your money’s worth. If you need to set it aside for some weeks, months, or even over a year in my case, it’ll still be there, waiting for you and not taxing your bank account. — Fairly diverse representation overall (not perfect but a good step in the right direction). Not everyone is white and straight, and there are a ton of lady characters. In terms of important npcs (leaders and who your character deals with directly), the ladies actually outnumber the men. — Multiple ways to gain experience and play the game, including open world exploration, a personal story created for your character, dungeons, world vs world, and jumping puzzles. — Gameplay that’s a little more like actual combat, in that you’re expected to run and dodge instead of standing in one place and spam a button over and over. (This honestly took me some getting used to. I still stand still more than I should while fighting.) — While there will always be trolls and jerks in anything having to do with the internet, GW2 does encourage players to work together and it’s created a fairly good atmosphere within the game itself. Anyone can revive a dead player (and is rewarded with experience if they do) and there are “world bosses” that exist in the open world that can’t be taken down by one player alone. Some, like Tequatl, even require players to talk and coordinate their plans of attack. — If you either play for a bit and do some proper exploring or spend some money in the cash shop, you can get around battle bikinis or just ugly armor thanks to a wardrobe function. You can make one piece of armor look like another piece of armor, all while keeping its stats intact. — You can create a bioluminescent plant person. Come on. Also giant cat monsters, tiny rat-sharks with big egos, huge tattooed humaniods with the ability to turn into were-animals (wolf, bear, raven, snow leopard), and uh, humans. If any of that sounds good to you, I highly encourage you to try the free trial. It’s free and again, there’s no subscription fee if you do decide to get the game. You pay for it once and you’re done. (I also encourage you to play on the NA server Dragonbrand, because then if you ever want to try World vs World, we’ll be on the same side and I won’t have to hunt you down on the battlefield.) If you have any questions or want more information, feel free to ask! ♥ I’ve been having so much more fun playing since I was able to rope one of my dear friends into joining up with me and I would love to be able to run around with you too. Make sure to send me an ask or reblog this with your information if you do decide to do the trial so I can find you. :)

(posting my opinion here too guys) You guys I never stick with video games because I always suck at them or get bored (or both) but I just recently max leveled a character on Guild Wars 2 and I am having so, so so much fun. I needed some initial convincing and now I wish I’d gotten involved sooner. There’s so much to do, but there’s never any pressure to do it. You can take your time or barrel through as much or as little as you want. It’s seriously great so please consider it and let me know if you try it!

THIS IS AN INTERESTING WAY TO PROMOTE A SUIT

I, for one, am delighted that “guy in sharp suit with hot women draped all over him” is being replaced by “guy in sharp suit with hot robots draped all over him”.  Clearly much more tailored (hee!) to the discerning modern consumer of haberdashery.

no idea what’s happening here, but I approve

The thing is tho, it’s not ‘hot robot draped over dude’ It’s ‘hot dude draped over robot’

Fuck yes it is. That’s the way to sell a fine piece of hardware to me, dammit.

the bed in the back tho …
