The Republican Party, aka the “silent majority” or whatever completely untrue nickname they’ve given themselves, KNOWS they cannot win with a fair election. They KNOW they cannot win if the Electoral College becomes the Popular Vote. They KNOW this country is a Democratic Majority. Which is why they fight tooth and nail to keep the Electoral College. It’s truly the only way they get wins.

Which is why they Gerrymander, Cheat, “Lose Ballots”, Suppress Voters, and do everything in their power to make voting as difficult as can be. This is ESPECIALLY why they pander toward religion.
