id be more than fine with a lot of harry hate if you just don’t vibe with him. thats more than fine. but so much of it is cloaked in homophobia/transphobia like switch out the name and please realize what you’re saying literally sounds bonkers. “the gender norms are beating him” etc. oh but user wlwharry he is a white cis man i can make fun of him. yes but consider the gnc people in your life and around you that are going to see that and know that the second you gain a little bit of popularity and people start seeing you as a figure in lieu of a person everyone is suddenly well within their rights to give you an onslaught of ridicule over the choices you make wrt your wardrobe and gender expression. yes harry is just some dude but the shit you say about him sets a precedent for a generation of gnc children that will grow up listening to that shit. please watch your language

really, really tiring how many of you ppl seem to think of gender noncomforming men as like. a weapon you can use against the patriarchy. and not a marginalised group in their own right.

like if a man is involved in/supportive of feminism or queer activism, but he’s not gender nonconforming enough for you, you acting like he’s dodging the gender-war draft. and if he is gender nonconforming but he’s not political enough for you, you act like his self-expression is now ~hollow~ and ~meaningless~ and possibly even treacherous.

gnc men were not put on earth to be your human shield or your martyr. they are not invulnerable just by virtue of being men. they are the targets of a huge amount of violence. why are you always demanding they put themselves in harm’s way for you and never talking about how you can make them safer?

every time i see someone trying to criticise a gnc male celebrity by saying his self-expression is “not even that groundbreaking” i’m like… okay? and???

gnc people do not only exist to make a point. they should not have to be Shocking and Scandalous to be acceptable to you. isn’t gender noncomformity becoming normal and mundane… EXACTLY what we’re meant to be aiming for?
