it’s me again. just letting everyone know i’m still not feeling like being on tumblr rp and i don’t think that’ll change any time soon. if anyone’s still interested in writing with me, i would strongly recommend you get my skype (via messenger) so we can rp there, or we can start a folder on Google Docs. i’ve done the latter with several people already - interestingly enough, i still much prefer Docs to other platforms, so… there’s that.

i’m stepping away from roleplay indefinitely. last night i got word that my childhood friend passed away Christmas morning - this morning i learned that she was murdered in Denver. so i won’t be around here. i’ll still be available via skype and maybe on my personal blog, otherwise you probably won’t hear from me for a while. there’s been so much loss at once. i’m hurting and so is everyone else. it’s just not a good time for me to be here.

“You threaten my realm with uncertain danger of my absence, so I did not feel unjust to threaten in return. I am not used to a realm without the control of my father.” Sophia laces her fingers together. She lifts her shoulders. She is not afraid of him– even in his realm, Life feels quite in control of herself. Just as he tells her that she essentially has no power over him, she feels quite the same. Pride is quick to anger, she can tell that– just as she was quick to be on the defensive.
“How do you expect me to respond when I am unclear of your intentions? You have a strange set of expectations, Pride.”

Pride barely acknowledges her remarks as he swallows down his aggravation. He is not so quick to succumb to wrath, unlike his younger siblings, and this girl is not going to be the exception. Regardless of what she believes, this is his domain, she will remain stuck here until he chooses to send her back.

He sinks back into his chair, stroking down the sides of his jaw as he stares out at the windows.

“... It is not enough that I am forced conceal myself from the world. Your father-- the others-- they have all despised me from the beginning. They are so ashamed that I had no other way of meeting you for myself, than to bring you here.”

Sophia purses her lips. “That cavern was never there when I have went into the forest before– I should have realized it was just an illusion. I travel wherever there is life. It is all bound by me.”
The girl paces to one side, still eyeing Pride.
“No mortal will call you Pride on Earth without me. I am what they need for their vitality. I will not convince you– you will let me leave. If you choose to make me stay here longer than should be necessary, so be it. But you are not helping your own existence on Earth.”

   “Do you threaten me?”

The smile remains, only now it is much colder. He knows this is simply the nature of her power, and that her absence would slowly turn the world to a freezing, barren wasteland. But that would take a great deal of time.

“Do not think that I plan to keep you here indefinitely. Time does not have the same influence here as he does on Earth. An hour in my realm would only be a minute on the surface. And so far, you have not been away for more than several seconds.”

Now, his mouth creases into a scowl.

“Never behave as though you have power over me.”

“They call me Sophia. I am Life, the offspring of Time, and he has concealed me, not confined. This is how I walk the Earth and live among other humans. They seek answers and immortality– things that I possess. He does not want me to be harmed, just as he does not like me leaving Earth.” Sophia imposes something of a stern look on Pride. She, as Life, takes it all with her– she understands that much. Surely her father will notice that Earth is not what it should be.
“I’m coming to assume that you might have enticed me to come down here, Pride. You could have invited me, you know– not trick me.”

Pride returns her stern look with one of self-satisfaction, suppressing a smirk as he strokes his chin. He can sense the irritation and slight urgency in her tone. He can only imagine how her father will react to her unusual disappearance. In truth, there was very little coercion involved -- the old man has no one to blame but himself, for neglecting to teach his daughter better than to wander into strange caverns.

“Trick? Entice? My dear, I had no such intention. Why would I need to trick you when you would wander so willingly into my abode?”

   He holds back a chuckle.

“... Well, here you are, now. How shall you convince me to let you return, I wonder?”

concept: living in an apartment in a foreign city. the smell of the bakery down the street comes in through the open window and sunlight warms your back while you lay in bed with a cup of tea on the nightstand and your pet sleeping at your feet. in the next room is all the books you could ever read, but a few of your favorites are still scattered around your bedroom because you’re in the middle of reading them all again. music plays faintly. you are relaxed, happy, and the only thing you have to worry about is what you want to make for breakfast.
