the babadook being a gay icon is really good because it’s totally incomprehensible to straight people. they’re probably trying to dig deep, rationalize, figure out what about the babadook makes him so appealing to lgbt youth, and they’ll inevitably reach a dead end because there’s no real answer. the babadook is gay because we said so

haha sick one! anyway, am I going to lose my health insurance in a few months

Guys. I get it, this isn’t ensuring you a living wage or banning AHCA.

But the courts have used Trump’s tweets to strike down the travel ban. This is important, even if it has a dumb name meant to needle him. His tweets are official correspondence, meaning they can illuminate his legislative intent, meaning they need to be on record. This can save lives. Using his tweets in court has saved lives. You can care about this AND your health insurance.

why are non-millennials so personally offended by everything? like if i’m still wearing my jacket indoors, it’s because i’m cold, not because i disrespect your home/your classroom !! if somebody has got your order wrong, it’s because they’re very busy and simply made a mistake, not because they’re trying to jeopardise your meal !! if somebodies phone rings during a meeting/lecture, it’s because they accidentally forgot to put it on silent, not because they want to disrupt your speech !! just calm down, sharon, not everything is about you

my personal favorite is when you yawn and they’re like “am I boring you?”

like bitch i’m running on five hours of sleep and chronic anxiety

As an official Older Person to me it’s about respect going both ways. I got no problem if the generic you is wearing a jacket inside if you’re cold. But if you’re somewhere that it generally is considered possibly rude a ‘please excuse me for the jacket, I’m cold’ would be nice to hear. Your phone rang because you forgot or you yawned? Say excuse me and apologize. I’d be fine with that. Yeah I know not all are but again… it’s about being respectful and polite. On both sides. Not everything is about the generic me but everone should try to be polite.

Why is a jacket offensive though? Why did your generation decide an extra layer of clothing is bothersome? This ended up being a huge issue at my high school where jackets were banned inside, even in winter, and the heaters were never turned on. In the end, kids were just accepting detentions if it meant being warm in class. It didn’t stop til parents stepped in.

When older people are at the point of forcing kids to freeze in order to “appear respectful”, I’m at a loss to where the logic is, and why older people apparently think respect is about causing yourself discomfort in order to settle others down.

Plus, there is no scientific reason for yawns, we have NO PROOF that it is related to being bored or tired.  Just stop making up ridiculous rules about what is or isn’t polite
