Abourdin
In the Akan language, "abourdin", means expensive and is used when something is of high value. Abourdin is a compound word comprising "abour", which means rock or stone and "din", which means solid or hard.
When you go back in history when stone carvings were prominent. You really needed the very solid and hardest rocks and stones to ensure that the monument or carving will last for thousands upon thousands of years. "Abourdin", solid stones or rocks, therefore, became synonymous with expensive, high-value, or prized assets in time and in history.
The very hardest of rocks or stones, "abour din", expensive, prized, high value.
