Don’t spread misinformation just to fit a narrative, Clinton is advocating for there to be a cap on who gets free college so that the government doesn’t have to subsidize the education of people with enough disposable income to pay for it themselves. The plan she’s proposing would have a better chance of being passed, is more cost-effective, and still opens up higher education to low-income individuals who previously couldn’t afford it.

Reblogging this as an example of what the Russian interference here on tumblr was. I have seen some people in the past days casting doubts on Tumblr because the blogs that were banned had social justice content. 

But that was the point exactly. They posted some real things and a lot of half-truths that would appeal to the kind of politics on here and therefore spread disinformation to discourage us from participating in stopping Trump through the only option we had. I’m glad tumblr left these posts up so we could see for ourselves. 

I don’t know if it actually worked on anyone, I hope we all remember to check our sources before making our decisions, but life is short and maybe some people didn’t.  There are plenty of real social justice blogs available still, so I hope we will follow those instead.

She was not. There were SO many posts by her that got big numbers and most of them were fine. That was an illusion so that when she posted things like this it might not click like it would if it were loudly pro- Trump.

No they would much rather Fuck over a whole country and including the rest of the world simply out of petty spitefulness and thinking that America losing its full democracy , women and those with a uterus losing all reproductive rights & being forced to give birth against their will, Trans and LGBTQ folks losing their rights to exist and be openly themselves in public, Black and Brown people being targeted and in danger by White-Supremacists/ Neo-Nazis groups who are downbad for Trump racist vision of America, immigrants being put in detention camps, is totally all OKAY and Dandy for these people.

Because they won't be the ones deeply affected by it due to either them being super privileged or because of their whiteness.

Because there should be public transit and trains. It is a ridiculously short flight that is just polluting the world unnecessarily but a lot of people don’t have a better option. There’s so many major cities in that small area that they should have train lines between them all

okay so like, I live in Baltimore. Boston is 8 hours by car away. But! There’s a direct train that goes there so I should take it and-

the train is 8 hours. Okay no big deal at least I’m not driving I can relax and-

the train ticket will run me one way between 100-300 dollars depending on when I buy it from Amtrak.

However, I can get an 80 dollar plane ticket one way on southwest, so I do that instead.

anyway it is beyond frustrating to be in the most used part of the amtrak system and still have train tickets be so goddamn cost prohibitive.

This blog believes strongly in the safety and mutual respect of both peoples, regardless of the actions of their governments. If you think differently, I hope you find empathy. In the meantime, fuck off.

i do think there is an issue on tumblr of caring about stuff in media when its ultimately irrelevant, minor, or not antisemitic at all while letting real dangerous antisemitism slide. like you see people getting worked up about idk goblins or witches and then a few weeks later will reblog a post that says jewish people use the holocaust to guilt trip people or recycles old rothschild conspiracy theories.

and it’s easy to see why this happens. this obsession with media purity has people looking for ways to deem media they don’t like as “problematic” and since so many aspects of european folklore have been used in an antisemitic way at some point it is quite easy to find SOMETHING that could be called antisemitic. and it really is not a hard thing to do. It carries 0 reputational risk, gives you an opportunity to dunk on fans of That Thing You Don’t like, and gets you allyship points. but when it comes to calling out antisemitism in your political movements, that’s less convenient. It takes effort and carries a risk of pissing people off, or getting you accused of “distracting from the real issues.”

this isn’t to say antisemitism in the media isn’t a problem because it is. But it’s much less of a pressing issue than antisemitism in our culture and politics. i’m sick of people getting credit for being allies only when there are no stakes. you have no right to get on your high horse about tolkien dwarves if you’re letting people get away with spouting talking points from the protocols of the elders of zion.
