i miss running. and more than just the simplicity of its movement, i miss the running culture. i miss my alarm going off at 6 am, all my sleepiness left in the dust after the first mile. i miss pasta dinners with the team. i miss my watch tan. i miss the nods of solidarity i shared with fellow runners pounding the pavement before the heat of the day caught up to us. i miss foam rolling and even ice bathing. i miss tempo runs and ladder workouts and that satisfaction i felt at the end of the week adding up my mileage and quantifying the work i had put in. i miss the hard, slow runs and i miss the easy, fluid ones and all other runs in between. i miss having to pee on the start line.
i miss running.
