Less than 2 days remaining!!!
Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and Maria have less than 2 days on their fundraiser. They have met their prior goal for securing housing, but still require funds to purchase a computer so Moataz can work from Egypt. They donโt know how long they will be in Egypt, and they will need to find steady income in order to remain secure.
We are VERY close to the goal! The progress has been incredible, I know we can meet the goal! Please reblog this post and repost the link to your own social media accounts!
Thank youโค๏ธ
LESS THAN 48 HOURS!
This is our last chance to make sure Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and Maria have what they need to start over!
We are so close! Less than $1500! I know we can do it! Please reblog and repost this link!

i love you fat dudes im so sorry about media
from nebraska earlier today. this has got to be some of the craziest tornado footage i have ever seen. from @nickgormanwx
does that other storm chaser's car have "LOL" written on it with duct tape or am I misinterpreting something
I cannot find a SINGLE news station that has picked up this footage. Not one.
Footage this spectacular of a tornado this large should be everywhere. It should be international. There should be professional analysis of it everywhere. There should be more footage of it from other angles. People should be talking about it in places besides Reddit and Twitter.
Can someone link me to credible coverage of this? Because a tornado filmed this cleanly with what seem to be cows in it seems extremely unlikely to be overlooked by the news.
I will gladly amend my opinion if I am wrong, this is amazing footage, but this is too perfect to be true.
I do love the LOL on the car. Storm chasers are fucking crazy.
This one was part of the outbreak in Nebraska earlier this week and likely didn't get as much coverage due to how big that outbreak was. There's other angles of it going around, though. As for why this specific video isn't on the news, if this particular tornado hit a community (which I'm not sure if it did), the videos of it looking pretty aren't important, ya know? And a lot of communities DID get hit, if not wiped out, by other tornadoes during the same outbreak, so those are the focus.
Ryan Hall is a well known storm chaser and weather person, as is Nick Gorman. Nick has a longer version of this video on his youtube as well. He's said he filmed this particular footage with an S22 ultra camera, which is a pretty dang good camera from what I understand (don't quote me on that, though, I'm not a camera person).
Also, based on the location of the tornado on I80 just north of Lincoln Nebraska, and the fact you can see a stationary train in the above video, I'm 90% sure it's the same tornado as the one that hit a train in the same area and THAT video of it is getting news coverage.
But yeah. There were just a lot of tornadoes in this outbreak, and in the one the next day in Oklahoma, that caused a lot of damage to a lot of people and those are what the news is focusing on. There was also one tornado in, I think, the Oklahoma outbreak that, by the grace of whatever you believe in, DIDN'T cause major damage despite being the second biggest tornado ever seen. It was so big it had an eye like a hurricane and that eye was so wide it showed up on radar which is not a thing tornadoes do. They have eyes, but not like that. Not to that scale. It also went significantly higher into the atmosphere that tornadoes are supposed to. BUT, because it didn't hit a town or cause major damage to structures, it's likely to get a rating of EF0 or maybe EF1. Which is inspiring renewed discussions on the effectiveness of the EF scale and if we need to rethink it.
So yeah. Just a weirdly photogenic tornado that, on its own, would probably be getting a lot more attention but as it stands there were just too many other things going on at the same time.
(Also important to note, since the person who took the video is a professional, he may not have been willing to license this footage to any news outlets for a variety of reasons.)
May 5 is the Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. (Also known as Red Dress Day.)
Show your support and pass on your strength by wearing red on May 5, and raising awareness. And if you have never read the Reclaiming Power and Place report, you can do so here.
Additionally, while the day is typically centred in Turtle Island, let us also not forget our international cousins, especially in Palestine and Sudan.
