Just a kid stumbling through finding her own style.

School just started! I'm scrapping many of the paintings I've been doing for the past few months, 'cause deep down I know I'm not really gonna complete them. This was continued in Photoshop, after trying Corel Painter Essentials at a part-time stint in the holidays. I like how painterly it is, but mannn, i'm bad at corel.

Just a little painting in hopes that I'll loosen up my painting block, these days.

Hey all! I've taken up a 4-day part-time job for the IT fair in Singapore, promoting Wacom Tablets. Drew this as a kinda-demo during the fair at our booth's 21" Cintiq. Oooh it's so nice to use.

Software? Adobe Photoshop Elements, 6.

(Actually what's the deal; everyone seems to think that you can't draw much unless you get CS4/CS5? A lot of customers said that, anyways. Sure you can.)

Cheers to all! I'm hoping I can touch this up after the show is over on Sunday, and get it up on DA by Next Week! :)

The Whale… If you read a recent front page story of the San Francisco Chronicle, you would have read about a female humpback whale who had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines. She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth. A fisherman spotted her just east of the Farallon Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed an environmental group for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her. They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her. When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them, pushed them gently around as she was thanking them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives. The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth said her eyes were following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.
aww :’)

This is also from a few weeks back, a piece called 'Submergence'. The full can be found on my Deviantart. :) This is kinda to tide the few of you following me over while I SLOWLY SLOWLY, read: SLOWLY finish that latest painting. Considering my holidays are here so I've been going out a lot, I've not found the time and feeling to sit my terrible ass down and start.

Come to think of it, there's still that EvolveCG challenge I've yet to attempt... Shit.

Know

Know that you are beautiful beyond reason.

Know that your lips bring words that make hearts dance.

Know that your eyes sheathe knowledge I will gain in years to come.

Know that you are mine and I am yours.

This was from my first semester in Nanyang Polytechnic's Digital Media Design-Animation Course.

A classmate, whom I have not done justice. Forgive the glaring mistakes in anatomy, but I do like the lighting. First time trying charcoal on toned paper. Highlights done with cretacolor white pastel pencil.

His features always lend well to lighting, anyways. .__. Even though I accidentally gave him that monkey mouth thingy.
