It totally makes a difference when you’re in it than when you’re spectating, so Clarke can ignore whatever her friends say about her and Bellamy’s living arrangements.

Clarke was in the last leg of the semester her sophomore year when Octavia Blake, her accidentally permanent seatmate in her Art History class, told her that her brother needed a roommate and then proceeded to list all the pros and cons of living with this person that Clarke had never met on her yellow legal pad. The list was very convincing without imposing.

The truth was this: Clarke had been suffering through two of the most nightmarish people she has ever met as roommates. And Octavia presenting her with an opportunity to move out of the Dorm of Hell was exactly what she needed. Never mind the very real possibility that she might also hate this brother.

#ok but you literally look like an idiot when you act like 108-216 never happened lmao#pay attention here he admitted his wrongdoings didn’t make excuses for himself#didn’t blame anyone else was willing to accept the consequence he thought he deserved which in his mind was death#then he made a complete 180 he didn’t continue to be an asshole or ‘relapse’ at all#he learned from his mistakes and made the effort to change#which is all part of being A DECENT HUMAN#which is why it’s so fucked up that he’s literally the only male character on tv who’s had a redemption arc I find acceptable#so I’m not saying he deserves to be worshipped for just being a decent human being#but I am saying that I think it’s shitty to erase this very well done development arc just for a ship war???#we should demand more arcs like this for male characters that don’t demand female characters to be sacrificed and trampled on for a man#instead his dependence on and growing respect for Octavia and Clarke was what he drew his strength from in a way that wasn’t draining or tox#I can’t believe I just typed all this on my phone but it’s just important ok#it’s just so much more than forgiving him cause he’s hot or whatever it is ppl are going on about#it’s actually something the show did a really good job with and ppl trying to twist it into a way to hate on a ship is so extra#yall need Jesus!!!!!!!!
