Hey, I’m feeling fucked up because of the Orlando shooting and making posts that Might Be Helpful to others makes me feel better. So here’s some positive stuff. I’m mostly linking to masterposts. If you have any suggestions for additions, please message me and I’ll add things. This is a hard time for LGBT people and I hope everyone can feel well soon.

I also realize that this can be a really hard time for a lot of people. Here are some LGBT friendly hotlines:

Stay safe everyone!

who wants to send me messages of happy memories they have relating to zelda?

Beating the Savage Labyrinth for the first time in 2002. :)

man i will never forget the amazing sense of accomplishment and relief i had when i finally beat Ganon at the end of OoT in like… 1999. that was good. i had been trying to do it for days and days and had lost so many times and that final blow cinematic was just like.. holy shit.. i saved hyrule!!

this sounds silly, but my brother and I were lent wind waker in 2003, and we were notoriously bad at it. (to be fair, it was the first game we had played that wasn’t mario kart or some such other genre) Getting through the Forsaken Fortress was so frustrating and hard, but I remember the feeling of triumph when I completed it (same with the first two dungeons - then we had to give it back). I have played that game 20 odd times (it’s my favourite), but I’ll never forget the wonder of exploring the vast world for the first time. <3

it doesn’t sound silly at all, i was awful at Zelda when i first played it, i got lost so much because before LoZ I pretty much played nothing but 2D platformers

the summer of 2009 where i beat twilight princess on my own and crying as the credits rolled. That entire summer playing in my living room is a great memory.

straight people (and some lgbt people yikes) saying “go to the parade !!! be proud of who you are !! don’t let this change anything !!!” as if someone wasn’t literally just arrested today for taking guns and explosives to the LA pride parade with obvious murderous intentions like ?????? obviously if you go the parade that’s amazing and i’m proud of you but i’m also so so proud of you if you decide to stay home too because you’re afraid. it’s okay to be afraid. this “don’t let them get you down !!!” mentality is so dangerous like i know it’s usually meant with the best of intentions but if someone feels afraid or unsafe they shouldn’t be made to feel bad for not going to a pride event. if you want to stay in your home or if you want to hang out with friends instead of going to a parade that is literally 100000% fine and you do not have to celebrate pride if you personally don’t feel like celebrating. your safety and comfort should be the number one priority.
