I had a lot of people who would say ‘oh she’s an 18 year old girl there’s no way that she actually carried her weight in those writing sessions.’ And that was a really harsh criticism I felt because, ya know, there was no way I could prove them wrong other than to write my entire next record solo, so that’s what I did.
Some days are just bad days, that’s all. You have to experience sadness to know happiness, and I remind myself that not every day is going to be a good day, that’s just the way it is!
