I'm sorry that I never did post for Halloween in 2019 like I said I would in my last post. That year just kept getting worse for me and then the hell year that is 2020 happened and yeahhhh :/
BUT I'm doing much better now! 2021 has still been Not Amazing but it's been much more gentle on me and I'm making progress in life and I've been feeling a bit better.
I don't want to make any promises about coming back to this blog, especially if people are no longer interested in it. I honestly haven't even used tumblr much lately in general even on my personal account. I'm mainly on Twitter now.
But I'm happy that the Free! fandom is still kicking! Even if it's not as active as it was in the past, I'm glad that people still love the anime. I still very much love Free! too and I'm looking forward to the final films~

I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long. I miss you all too. T-T To be honest, 2019 hasn’t been very kind to me, it’s been a tough year. I’m trying to get back into a good place mentally, so I think I’ll start posting again with October coming up! I always loved Halloween posts.

The sad and disturbing news broke today that 33 people were killed and many more injured in a suspected arson attack at Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) Studio in Kyoto Japan.
On July 18, at 10:30 local time the three-story building broke out in flames. A suspect is in custody and currently hospitalized after reportedly pouring what appears to be gasoline and setting the blaze.
The fire burned for five hours before fighter fighters were able to extinguish the flames. There were around 70 people inside the building when the fire started. 36 individuals are in the hospital, some in critical condition. With 33 confirmed dead, the Kyoto Animation fire is the largest mass murder in Japan since the Myojo 56 building fire nearly 20 years ago.
Kyoto Animation was founded in 1981 by former Mushi Pro staff. They are known for their groundbreaking work on many beloved anime series and films such as Lucky Star, Clannad, K-On!, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Free!, Violet Evergarder, A Silent Voice, and more.
Fans and industry professionals alike turned to social media to express their greif, sorry, and sympathies, with #PrayForKyoani reaching #1 trending worldwide on Twitter.
Sentai Filmworks has set up a gofundme, Help KyoAni Heal, which has raised over $500,000 dollars. Please note that at this time KyoAni has not made any statements requesting financial help or indicating what they may need in terms of support.
Hi everyone. Sorry for the inactivity this year. I’ve just had different priorities in life these past few months and haven’t had time or energy to focus on this blog.
That aside, there is some sad news regarding Kyoani.
I’m sure many of you have heard about the arson attack on Kyoani. If you haven’t, on Thursday morning in Japan, a man walked into Kyoto Animation - the studio that animates Free! - spread a flammable liquid and set fire to the building. He was eventually captured, but unfortunately, 33 people were killed.
This is a terrible tragedy, obviously for the loss of human life, but also as a blow to the anime industry. Many of Kyoani’s colleagues at other studios must be hurting from this as well. And it goes without saying that fans are hurting too. Besides Free!, I love many of Kyoani’s other anime, and I know they’ve animated many anime favorites and current classics. Kyoani has a team of hard-working, talented staff, so this is especially heartbreaking for fans all over the world.
They have not yet released a list of the people who died, so it’s unknown which, if any, of these employees worked specifically on Free! Regardless, if and when they do release a list, I’ll share that as well.
As a side note, obviously yes, this means that projects will be delayed, if not completely cancelled. Please do not be that insensitive guy who asks “but does this mean that Free! 2020 and the Hibike movie will be pushed back?” This is not the time, and that is not important right now, so please be understanding that people are gone and their families and friends are grieving.

I started a full-time job around the time I was last active and it’s... it’s a lot. It’s exhausting and I kinda really honestly hate it, but I need money and health insurance cause those are important to, y’know, live and all that, so you gotta do what you gotta do.
Today I saw on Twitter people posting fanart for Asahi’s birthday and suddenly remembered, “oh crap, the food blog” >.<
I miss you guys and this blog and Free!, I really do T-T I promise I’ll try to be more active again though! I’m just now starting to get into the groove of life with this job so hopefully I can manage my time better from now on~
Honestly I’m so out of date with free I don’t even know who hayori or anyone else past season 2 is, but they’re all cute and I hope they get happiness.

In all seriousness though, this blog’s follow count has been in a decline since... idk when. I remember at some point I was almost at 5k followers, it was at 4900-something, then it dipped below that and has continued to do so. I understand why 100%. People are losing interest in Free! or moving onto other fandoms. This type of shitposting isn’t really “in style” anymore. In December, Tumblr’s nonsense caused a lot of people to live the site all together in general too, so that’s another mass exodus of folks. I haven’t been on the ball in over a year now either, so that hasn’t helped.
I’m not mad or irritated at all, I totally get why people are unfollowing and/or deleting their accounts.
But I just think it’s funny that it’s been a noticeable amount of unfollows today because of Hiyori lol
Like I usually lose a follower or two during these “bday spam” days, probably people realizing they were still following this blog but aren’t into Free! anymore. But damn, today is more than usual lmao, poor HIyori xD
