“I remember that he laid down on me, on my legs, looking up and I started touching his hair,” says the impossibly sweet Omar Rudberg of co-star Edvin Ryding. "And I just remember thinking, ‘Oh shit, this dude is so good’.” -Vogue Scandinavia, 2022

Pointing out little moments and details of one of my fav scenes that need to be remembered.

“what will happen to us?” scene • episode 5 | part 2

here’s part 1

wilhelm’s active role in leading their motions. it’s something we are used to see from all their previous intimate moments, reflecting his need to not be controlled, but to be the one in control for once in his life.

then roles reverse, it’s simon who takes charge by guiding them on the bed and wilhelm letting himself be charged. he chooses to be vulnerable in a way.

highlights: wille’s hands on simon’s waist when he sits on his laps and them making out in front of the royal speech’s cards hanged up on the wall. iconic.

wide shots that emphasize them sharing the same little space and being so affectionate, living a moment that’s only for them to remember, are truly a gift.

intimacy always meant growth in their relationship, by exploring together and creating a comfort zone. they also know their bodies way much better by now, what the other likes and dislikes, how to turn each other on.

so this is not only simon’s eagerness, but them feeling extremely safe and comfortable too.

my fav shot of the scene: simon’s hands cupping wille’s face, fluid movements and eyes closed from melting into the kiss. they fit so perfectly.

this is exactly what i meant writing that wilhelm chooses to be vulnerable and let his guard down under simon’s weight, hands and kisses on him. he is completely carried away by the pleasure he’s feeling.

there’s not even need to say that wille closing the curtains is one of the most powerful and meaningful moments of all.

their smiles right after drives me insanely happy.

closing the same curtains that were left open at that time feels like closing that heartbreaking chapter of their story too. it doesn’t mean forgetting about it, but being ready to move on and not allowing it to ruin what they have anymore.

this is the image we’re left with: the sound of their chuckles in the background, the darker room, them finally having the privacy they should have gotten the first time and we also, as an audience, are not supposed to see any further.

it’s their moment. and for them only.

this whole scene is so bittersweet: they finally get to share the very first intimate moment together - after the video was spread - but like it is their last. it’s scary that in a matter of hours nothing could ever be the same again, so they give their all for what may be the last time. live in the moment. make it unforgettable.

their approach and its escalation portrays them finding their way back to each other, metaphorically and physically: hands holding in a careful way at first but soon starting to ask for more physical contact,

just as the ‘i’m scared, you’re scared, so let’s be scared together’ type of hug turning into an act of love and desire. it feels like their biggest need, to bring that intimacy back and not let anything take it away from them.

simon smelling wille’s sweater with closed eyes, for all the times he did it with the orange one in his room, wishing he was there but actually wasn’t.

this time it’s real. wilhelm’s arm surrounding him, his scent recalling all the memories. it is comfort.

wilhelm closing his eyes first and initiating the kiss. he doesn’t think twice about it but simply follows his heart. it’s the most natural thing for wille to do and for simon to immediately respond to.

the consent look.

it’s their own way of communicating without words. asking for consent and receiving it, to make sure they’re both on the same page.

simon’s hand going up to wilhelm’s neck for the pure bliss of doing it. he caresses it and doesn’t pull him in, waiting in awe for wille to close the distance instead.

one of the best wilmon’s kisses hands down: the passion, the longing, the need. they’re this desperate, to not even separate their lips before connecting again.

my two weakest points are their hands moving in sync and, just as in their reunion kiss, simon’s forrowed eyebrows on his ‘i was missing and craving this so much it almost hurts’ expression.

wilhelm’s hands in simon’s curls and his eyes opening to get a glimpse of the moment. they are literally melting into each other’s lips and arms.

That look is saying, ‘I’m in control. This is me. I’m queer. I’m in love with this guy, and I’m prepared to face whatever is coming next.’ It’s a very ‘Let’s start a revolution’ kind of moment.” -Edvin Ryding
