Today's nailspiration is the bodysuit Britney wore on the 2000 VMAs. Polish is The Art of Sparkle by FUN Lacquer.
My first experiment with Twinkled T nail vinyls and I'm in love. Probably made a mistake on the color choice, tho. I look like the opening credits from Saved By the Bell.
On Prime Day, I picked up this @butterlondonofficial Spotlight kit. The look on the right is the dark purple polish Password Please, which is delightfully gothy, covered with the Spotlight blue jelly. It's stunning in person, with holo glitter almost suspended like stars.
Inspired to get into nails again thanks to @simplynailogical. Went a little crazy on Amazon picking up some of the tools she uses. Here's a simple color block using Tin Man by Julep and Licorice by Essie, along with some nail vinyls. (Forgive the chipping. I took these five days in.)
okay maybe this is just me but ever get your nails painted, particularly if it’s been awhile, and suddenly feel about a million times more efficient and elegant. like everyday things like texting and typing and driving are like. how together is my life right now? honestly not very but you wouldn’t know that from looking at my nails
Madelynn from this month's Julep It Girl box. I was jazzed about it in the bottle, less jazzed about it on me (felt way too dark and dramatic for daytime) and rejazzed about it when I slapped on a matte top coat!
My only diehard nail recommendation is Seche Vite top coat. I've been asked why, and here's the answer. The right photo is my Luci manicure pre-Seche Vite and the left side is post. It smooths out ridges and wobbles, like putting Vaseline on your nails' camera. Plus you get a super glossy finish, like a sheet of glass. It's available at beauty supply stores and your bigger drugstores, but I buy it in 3.5 ounce bottles on amazon. Because I have a problem.
The trouble with specialty finish polishes is that I can't put protective top coat on them, but I wanted something Easter-y and I figured I'd give this Julep Soft Focus a chance. The pic above is from three days in. I've got stress cracks on most of my nails! And I haven't really done anything more strenuous than dishes. So, off it comes again and back to my beloved, super shiny Seche Vite.
I read The Wicked + The Divine: The Faust Act this morning and felt like at least my manicure could be in tribute to the Thin White Duchess. The white and black are by Essie. The pale shade is Julep's Glenda. The book is by kierongillen and Jamie McKelvie.
Check out mah Hawkeye nails, inspired by amateurnails. The dots inside dots are such a great look that I never remember to use. The white is by Essie, the base is a Julep shade, and the light purple is from Sinful Colors.
New life goals.
Trying out the new big stamping plate I got from MoYou London for my big fingers. Already so happy.
Halloween nails achieved. (Sidebar: I'm now an expert in using temporary tattoos on nails.)
Day five and I'm still in love with the effect of these chevron nail stickers. Need to get my hands on more.
Getting into the Halloween spirit with Karmen and Ledi from the Julep October It Girl box.
Might have gone overboard with this month's Julep order.
