He's not entirely sure what's it with the no offense thing. Is it                  some sort of emotional spell he just doesn't get that makes                   whatever one says entirely acceptable?

                  — not that he really wants to ask, either.

      "Oh? Do you have such horrid impressions of me?"

                  He's slowly getting the hang of humor, though. Sort of. Not                   really. It comes far dryer over his lips that he would have                  thought it to. 

                  The suggestion alone, holding the implication in between mere                  statement and accusation (a thing hard to tell with Thanos, as                  it always had been), makes him halt. Not long; not much more                   than a moment to give a long glance at his acquaintance. 

                  (He'd like to object. Say he knows exactly what he's doing. But                  he assumes it would be identified as a lie before it even left his                  lips, so he leaves it at that.)

      "Someone has to deal with it." 

                  Expectation would be quite a stretch of the word, for he                  finds himself in surprise upon her. A thing very few do                   manage. She is familiar; something within his very own                  soul echoing to the aura of power practically dripping of                  her, and it does take a few heartbeats to figure out why                  she is. How — unexpected, indeed.

                  (If not for the deep bound he still has while connecting                  to the gems in the past, it is likely her identity would                   remain a mystery to him. Of course it is barely running                  as far as the connection to his own Soul Gem would                   be, but time spent near them has still left scars burned                  down into himself.)

                  However, surprise is a thing gone quickly from his mind,                  and one he would even less allow to show.

      " — not as soon, I must admit." 

      " — who?"

                  It is a little less that he is in fact lost at who she                  means, though. It might just be a tiny jab of —                   jealousy indeed that he is not wanting to admit.                  Which he cannot keep entirely from his face;                  flashing over it for just a second. 

      "And how would you think me an expert for       determining when it is wrong for you to judge       about — I doubt it does matter, actually."
