…if you want sexist shit to stay in games. Be productive for once instead of whining about feminists all day! #icansayyourbullshittoo

According to you. They already are.

Maybe a better question should be, if you...

I'd also like to point out that "making her own feminist games" is exactly was Brianna Wu does, and she was driven from her home when 8channers leaked her home address and someone threatened to kill her entire family.

BUT NO, YOU CAN TOTALLY JUST MAKE YOUR OWN GAMES AND NOBODY WILL GIVE YOU SHIT FOR IT EVER

Thoughts on Boyhood

Well, after a long period of being angry at the Internet for various reasons, I did finally manage to watch Boyhood.  So... I should review it, yes?

Honestly, I don't think I'm qualified to review it.  I know I'm just an amateur blogger to start with, but... somehow, watching this grand film, I realized that it was "beyond" me in some capacity.  Perhaps I just lack life experience, but I don't feel I could give an appraisal that's genuinely worth reading.

A couple of updates

Two brief updates on earlier posts.  First, the "May 2016 Thing" has been resolved:  Warner Bros. moved Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice up on the release schedule, to March 25, resolving the conflict.  Disney hasn't announced any change to their schedule, though, so it remains to be seen what will happen with Finding Dory and Dragon 3.

Also, Boyhood is indeed expanding into more theaters, and I'm now confident that I'll be able to see (and review!) it soon.  Unfortunately there's no such luck regarding Life Itself.  I'll probably just end up buying the DVD.

What the hell happened?!

This summer has been insanely weak at the box office.

For those who don't follow Box Office Mojo as obsessively as I do, this might be surprising, so I'll put some hard numbers down:  Domestic total gross of all films playing during the period beginning May 2, 2014 is $2,841 million as of this writing.  Comparing totals up to this point each year, that's a decrease of almost 20% compared to last year, and it's overall the lowest it's been since 2006.  (Source.)

In short:  what the hell happened?

MCU update

Guardians of the Galaxy isn't even out yet, and a whole new batch of Marvel Cinematic Universe films has already been added to the schedule, taking us all the way to that sweet First Friday In May release in... 2019??  I think we may be hitting MCU saturation here.  Remember when everybody wanted every new Guitar Hero release?  Neither do I.

Introduction

Hi!  I'm Litwick, a Ghost/Fire type Pokemon native to the Unova region.  Welcome to my movie blog!

I've always loved movies, and equally love talking about them.  So, this blog will collect all my thoughts about all the movies I see or hear about:  reviews, discussions, predictions on success with critics/audiences/awards groups, just general movie commentary, etc.  I'm not a professional, and indeed have only briefly studied film in a formal setting (I took one class on film at Unova Unoversity), so don't expect professional critiques.  I'm just an ordinary movie fan with a blog.  And a small flame atop my head.
