Cute Baking

Hi! This is just a blog about the random stuff I bake. I love trying new recipes and any suggestions are welcome! :3

Okay so I didn’t take any pictures while making this because I was so excited. This is my favorite dessert of all time, it’s called bread pudding and it has a simplistic recipe which is the problem with treats like this. The simpler it is to make, the more noticeable changes are in the way people make it. People make this so many different ways since it’s kind of an old classic family recipe type of dessert. I prefer mine without nuts or fruit, but with a bit of cinnamon so add whatever you like.

I tried two different recipes, the one on the left is from YouTube and is a family’s recipe and the one shown in the pictures on the right is allegedly the recipe used at the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas. I loved the bread pudding at the casino there, so I was happy to find a recipe to recreate it. I prefer the Golden Nugget recipe because it includes cinnamon and layers the pudding and bread. I could go on for hours about bread pudding.

If you have a sweet tooth this pie is definitely for you! Chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake ice cream Oreo pie! The recipe calls this pie something way shorter and omitted the fact that it was cheesecake ice cream so it was a bit of a surprise when reading the ingredients.

I love the Oreo pie crust, but hate making it so I went and bought one instead. I’m not sure if the Oreo crust is the best for complimenting the cookie dough, but with just the cheesecake ice cream it tastes fantastic. I would make sure to chop the cookie dough into smaller pieces if I were to make this again. Overall, it was sweet and delicious!

Mixed Berry Pie! This is my family’s favorite kind of pie and we usually get one from Costco for the fourth of July, so I decided to try making one of my own this year. I would recommend using fresh fruit for this, I just used the frozen fruit I had on hand and feel it could have turned out better with fresh fruit. Also, I added the dough stars as a decorative holiday twist. Happy Fourth of July!

Here’s one of the many pies I made this weekend! Blueberry Creme Pie all from scratch. It’s a simple recipe and you can replace blueberries with any one of your favorite berries! I would add more vanilla to the creme though, it didn’t stand out too much. Overall, really nice and a great treat!

So I tried making individual S’mores Dip which seems to have grown in popularity since I initially tried it. I kinda free handed it so it wasn’t as smooth as it’s supposed to be and tasted more like vegetable oil, probably because all the ratios were off. It’s an adorable idea and I want to try again!

Plus look how pretty it is. I don’t even know, the concept of it compared to the traditional way of making s’mores just intrigues me.

Look at these amazing photos taken by stuckinthedaylight, adrunkkgiraffee, and arctickilos. Full credit to these amazing people! Sorry I haven’t been on in a while, I have a ton of projects and tests to focus on in school, but have this amazing treat to make!

Can’t really give a review for them because I didn’t try one yet, but I bet they taste as amazing as they look!

Matzoh ball soup! Happy Passover everyone, I've actually never made matzoh balls before because my mom hates them so I used the basic recipe off the back of the matzo meal can.

The chicken broth I picked is too salty so I would choose a different brand next time and possibly boil the matzoh balls longer. Omg it’s so cool they swirl and bounce around in the pot and then settle for a bit to boil. Since when is the spelling “matzoh” figth me there should be an ‘a’ there.

Brownies for dessert? April Fools! Here’s an awful pun and disappointment instead. I didn’t eat all the real brownies yet, and haven’t decided if I will. Nah seems kinds mean.

This is in no way an original idea of mine, and if you know the primary tumblr user who posted it message me! I’d love to give credit. Motto for today is amuse not abuse, so wooh let’s keep it safe and fun.

Chocolate mousse!

The first time I ever had mousse was over a friend’s house. It was her mom’s personal recipe, but I hated it so I had to pretend as if I was enjoying it and ate the whole cup. Ever since I've always just assumed I disliked mousse, but this was really yummy! Let it sit in the refrigerator for 6 hours, it becomes firms like it’s supposed to be.

Apple Pie! One of my favorite desserts of all time!

These came out amazing and I got a chance to make a lattice pie crust, except it isn't perfectly woven. Or really woven at all... still it tasted nice and if don’t enjoy gelatin based filling for pie, this is a great recipe that does not include any thickening agent!

Pistachio Pudding cookies! I love pistachios so this may just have been excuse to purchase a box of them, but the cookies were alright. Kind of tasted like a bland sugar cookie, and I don't like white chocolate all too much so that was alright.

Gotta find a St. Paddy's day recipe!

Here are some hot cocoa cookies made from the Kraft jet-puffed mini marshmallow bits recipe.

These were really yummy, but tasted more like chocolate chip cookies then chocolate cookies with marshmallows. I would increase the amount of hot chocolate mix packets and reduce the amount of brown/granulated sugar to compensate.

Ghirardelli caramel brownies! I don't even know why I took a pic of the brownies after I added a top layer of the mix to cover the chocolate squares...I can barely tell which pic was before and after. So I tweaked the recipe a bit and only added a cup of sugar (recipe calls for 11/4 yikes), instead of 3/4 cocoa powder I did 1/2 cup and 1/4 cup choco chips, and I added the caramel chocolate squares. I suggest baking it at 350 F instead for at least 30-40 mins and centering the chocolate squares more so they don't end up on the bottom of the pan. Also, they came out a bit flat so maybe a 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder.

They were super yummy and I love caramel so yaya! If you don't like it oozing with caramel this is perfect because the caramel melted in with the brownie.

I’M BACK AND MY HOUSE HAS A NEW OVEN! Check out this fine piece of machinery, it’s a convection oven too, just take a look at that fan in the open door pic! Haha bless my mother and her inability to to care about matching, stainless steal and black oven in an all white themed kitchen. I really love it though, it looks all sleek and look! Buttons that are not broken! Time to christen this baby!

ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THE SPECIALTY PANCAKE GRIDDLE BURNER IN THE MIDDLE! Who needs a spoon holder? This is revolutionary, and petty marketing to get people to buy the special little pan to go on it. Still loving it though! So yep, this is why I couldn’t bake or post in a while, but now I can!

First thing baked in new oven :3
