But there had to have been a way. The crowds were just watching but they had nothing to really contribute and even listen in on this conversation. In his head, he wanted to find his one way exit and something told him that Midgar or Edge wasn’t anywhere in this land.

"There’s a reason why I ask." He paused. "Because this land is ‘new’ to me." He responded as he emphasized the ‘new’.

"Is there any other place outside of this metropolis?"

It’s true the people seemed the same but the fashion and the appearance revealed this land was foreign to him. As much as he wished he could learn more about Zanarkand, he had other pressing matters to worry on.

So he knew nothing of Spira then. Who was this strange man and how did he get here? Sin should be the only way anyone could reach this Zanarkand. Was there another way? He had many questions for the mysterious figure.

“Yes, there is.” He scanned the crowd, making sure no one overheard him. “But this is not the place to discuss it.”

He turned abruptly, his back to the other warrior. “Follow me if you wish to know.” With that said, the elder guardian began making his way through the crowd. There would be less people near the docks on the outskirts of the city this time of day. It would be better to discuss matters there.

"What are you talking about?" The boy responded through gritted teeth. His fist clenched as he watched the man take a step forward, but when the flames revealed who stood before him all Auron could do was stare in awe and fear. The coat was a dead giveaway, but it was everything that accentuated the elder that took the young swordsman aback. The grey hair, the slung arm, that scar across his eye. It was in Auron’s better nature not to believe this man…but if he was telling the truth, was this his fate?

"It can’t be…" The boy gasped out as he took a step back. His eyes continued to study the warrior that stood across from him; this couldn’t be possible. "No, you couldn’t be me. Something like this is impossible, and the consequences alone…" Auron paused in mid sentence as his amber hues met with the man’s one eyed gaze. "If you are me, then tell me something only I would know."

Auron waited in silence as the boy took it all in. His reaction was only natural. Even the elder guardian had been surprised by this odd twist of fate. But he kept his composure. Not much phased him these days. Years of living in regret and grief will do that to you. It was ironic, he thought, to see how much he'd changed in ten years. He was no longer the brash young warrior he used to be.

Something only he knew? Easy enough. Auron had always been a secretive man. Off hand, he could think of at least dozen different memories to choose from. However, one in particular stuck out from the rest. It was something he remembered well. He never broke his gaze as he spoke, “When Braska, Jecht, and I arrived in Besaid, Braska made me promise something. He wanted me to bring Yuna there, after it was all over.”
