in all my years of imagining how destiel would finally be canon, “cas confesses to dean in an oddly-cut scene that jensen admits his reaction was cut out of, dies, is never mentioned again, and then three weeks of intense speculation and a pile of evidence pointing to a cover up later, dean reciprocates in the spanish dub” never crossed my mind

thinking about how spn used castiel’s love confession to drum up interest in the show and lure back old fans and it was all for nothing because they never mentioned it again on the show. they could have put out a statement after 15.18 confirming that cas wasn’t coming back, they could have had dean acknowledge cas’s confession by telling sam and jack, they could have had a memorial of sorts for cas before jack vanished, they could have let misha post his goodbyes like every other actor got to after their final scene. but they made the choice not to address it because they didn’t want to commit to destiel. they knew that a large part of the fandom was there for misha, for cas, and for deancas and they used that, used us, just to get higher ratings and more buzz around the finale and i am shaking in anger because of it

I really, truly am sorry for Misha and Jensen and Jared and Alex and all of the others who did the best they could with the scripts they were given. They’re going to see what we’re saying about this, and it’s going to hurt like hell. They’ll probably take it as a personal failure. Think they let us down. Which is a horribly untrue, for both the finale and the whole series. It was beautifully acted! They cared so much! Enough to make us care about 15 years of stories like this!

So thank you - thank you - to everyone who made this show what it was. Keep loving it, keep being proud of it, keep fighting. You gave us so, so much.

god i'm so sorry to jared and jensen because i know they said they loved the episode but i feel like a mom when their kid brings them an ugly drawing and they still say "aww, that's nice honey" only because they love them

now i lay me down to sleep. i pray to castiel to get his feathery ass down here RIGHT FUCKIN NOW

maybe the final will be absolutely terrible, maybe it will be beyond wonderful. i dont know. 

but regardless, it was so good to ship destiel all these years and especially the last two weeks of spn’s popularity boost where everyone keeps talking about it were real fun. actually the most fun ive probably had in this awful year. so here’s to that.
