You groan again, and sink back further into the cushions. You weren’t feeling any physical pain, but it was there figuratively. Every cliche and predictable line torturing you. “Sapphire,” you whine, but she doesn’t seem to be responding to you anymore. So you exhale and shift your weight so you can lean against her.

Maybe you can just… Try to enjoy it. Grin and bare it kind of thing. Honestly, if she’s that into the movie your probably going to have to watch it over eternity. Actually, maybe just kill you now. 

A pout remains evident on your face as you solemnly gaze at the screen. And, after your initial distaste it got to be.. bearable. Maybe you kind of like it. With your head relaxed against her shoulder, you find yourself slowly submerging yourself into the story and plot

Ruby is finally quiet by the time your favorite part comes on. The second time Adam Sandler’s character meets Drew Barrymore’s character and she doesn’t recognize him. You find it so sweet, but also rally funny, how he tries to woo her every day. You lean over to Ruby and whisper in her ear; “Psst, Ruby, we should make waffle houses together, like the movie, but better!”

"Ruby calm down!" She gestured to her body, "See? I'm fine, you didn't have to get yourself hurt for me."

Okay. When Sapphire had said she was in the mood for a movie, you just kind of assumed it would be something, you know, decent. No. No, it had to be the most cliche movie in the world. Fifty Firsts Dates. You love her, you really do… Bad movie tastes included.

That doesn’t stop you from complaining. In fact, you’re pretty sure there has been a pause in your snarky comments for some time. At least you’re respectful enough to actually lover your voice a little bit so the movie can still be heard over your complaints.

It’s not even like the movie was so kind as to slowly deteriorate throughout the scenes.

No. no, the first lines of this cheap excuse for a romance movie is, “So tell me what happened in Hawaii.”

“It was unbelievable, I met this guy, it was the best week of my life!” You’re groaning. You are groaning so hard right now. It’s ridiculous. Is she seriously interested in this garbage?

“Saphs,” you try, and you’re nearly laughing. “Are you for real about this?”

“Ruby, shhh!! Be quiet, I’m trying to watch!” 

You are so for real about this. Since this movie came out you have been, well, obsessed with it. It was your favorite romcom, even if it DID have Adam Sandler in it. 

You only wish you could lose your memory by running into a tree in a strange pineapple field, and have Ruby work for your affection. Ah, that would be the life.

Garnet’s visor nicely hides the tears she’s shedding. She didn't want to stop all of this, but it was to dangerous, for herself and others.

“Look, we almost unfused today. Every time that happens it is traumatizing.”

They also almost couldn’t save Rose and Pearl, but She decided not to dwell on that. 

“From now on. I’ll be on my own. I’m sorry.”

regardless of whether or not she is able to regenerate, it’s gotta be a little traumatic to see your bird mom get stabbed through the chest. He canonically had flashbacks about it. I know this is way back in the beginning of season one but I can’t stop thinking about it I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT BIRD MOM
