Okay I’ve been debating this for a couple of days and it’s clear now. I am going to be placing Scout under hiatus due to lack of muse amongst other things. Beth listened to her in complete silence. Blue hues reflecting the dancing flame of the campfire. Immediately she felt like she needed to protest, come up with more reasons why she believed that she wasn’t important but there was a determination in the woman’s words that let Beth know that there was going to be no way for her to win this argument. The young girl lowered her gaze down to her feet as a heavy breath of air escaped from between her lips.
❝ I just don’t think so, ‘s all I guess. No one else treats me like I can do things. They all look at me like I’m gonna be the next one to die. ❞
The woman pursed her lips together and her eyes narrowed, she wondered about the girl, Scout would've been lying if she had said she understood what the other was feeling. Though, out of sympathy and a maternal instinct she wanted to, just because she didn't like seeing people sad. Scout let out a gentle sigh.
"I can't force you to think the way I want you to. But I can say that maybe it's time you go and prove them wrong. Because you've made it this far, why not go a little further? "
"You're disgusting."
