Astrid falls asleep on Hiccup's shoulder after keeping him company in the workshop and Hiccup just smiles at her then he tries not to move too much. After finishing his latest design, he grabs a parchment to occupy himself with drawing a sketch of her peaceful expression and enjoys the softness of their alone time.

Headcanon: When Hiccup married Astrid, he didn’t think it was possible to love her any more than he already did.

Then he watched her raising their children, and a whole other space opened up in his heart. Not just a love for Zephyr and Nuffink; but a new love for Astrid too. Facing the highs and lows of parenting with her at his side was glorious.

Astrid felt the same way about Hiccup.
