today in the walmart customer service line this guy was returning an 8 dollar can of mixed nuts bc it advertised to have macadamia nuts in it and it didn’t. like on the one hand its funny but on the other hand what kind of can of nuts is a liar. this kind of content is all i can offer tumblr anymore

it makes sense to redownload the tumblr app while im on break but i dont remember my password so i downloaded neko atsume instead and its basically the same thing
i deleted the tumblr app and dont have tumblr logged in on my chromebook where i do all my hmwk so i could try and finish this paper bc its my very last thing to do for this semester so i put it off until the day that it was due. its not due for 4 hours but im so hungover that im struggling. ive been truly wearing less and going out more and its all paying off. today i stayed in bed until like 3 pm with the exception of 30 minutes when i was out getting breakfast tacos but then returned to bed to eat the breakfast tacos and nap. love it. oh another thing i went to my first actual research conference a few days ago and im proud of myself. go cowboys
my bday is in 30 days :-)

A group of researchers have trained pigeons to identify malignant breast tissue in exchange for pigeon pellets. Here’s the real, not made up study.
This doesn’t mean hospitals will start employing pigeons. But it does suggest that studying pigeons could help us teach doctors how to process medical images. From the study:
Pigeons (Columba livia)—which share many visual system properties with humans—can serve as promising surrogate observers of medical images, a capability not previously documented.
… The birds’ successes and difficulties suggest that pigeons are well-suited to help us better understand human medical image perception, and may also prove useful in performance assessment and development of medical imaging hardware, image processing, and image analysis tools.

“The birds were remarkably adept at discriminating between benign and malignant breast cancer slides at all magnifications, a task that can perplex inexperienced human observers, who typically require considerable training to attain mastery,” said Richard Levenson, lead author of the study, and professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at UC Davis Health System.
Pigeons aren’t the only animals being trained to detect cancerous tissues. UC Davis physicians are also training dogs to sniff out cancer.

I'm gonna wear the dress I wore out for my bday tomorrow night but with some tape so the ladies look better :) bc me and my friends planned to go dt but its gonna be like 30 degrees ! Wtf! We couldn't go tonight bc too many people were busy. Ladies night is gonna devolve so fast and I already see it breaking up 💔
grizzly bears in denali national park feed on berries, which grow every autumn from alaska’s otherwise barren tundra landscape, to fatten up for the winter. in order to meet their nutritional requirements, the bears will consume upwards of 200,000 berries in a single day. the plants with the red leaves produce blueberries.
