Theseion by elven21, 2007. The temple of Hephaistos in Athens, Autumn 2007. Some archaeological comments: The site of the ancient Agora in Athens is dominated by the “Theseion” ( Θησείον ). This lovely marble temple, built atop the hill of Agoraios Kolonos, is the best-preserved temple of Hellenic antiquity and though smaller than the Parthenon rivals it in beauty and architectural perfection. The name Theseion had been given long ago to the temple (because of the “Exploits of Theseus” that are depicted on the metopes of the long north and south sides), although it is now known to be a misnomer, since the temple was in fact dedicated to the gods Hephaistos and Athena. Traces of foundries and workshops have been found on the slopes of the hill and Hephaistos was patron god of smiths and metalworkers, while Athena was patron of craftsmen and particularly potters (in Greek, kerameis), after whom the surrounding area was named Kerameikos ( “ Potters’ Quarter ” ). Building of the “Hephaisteion” ( Ηφαιστείον ) began in the mid-fifth century BC and was completed around 420 BC. The temple is in the Doric order, peripteral, with six columns front and back and 13 on the long side, 13,80 x 31,80 metres. The columns display a slight entasis and incline towards the centre, as happens on the Parthenon. The cella housed statues of Hephaistos and Athena, works of the sculptor Alkamenes. In Christian times the temple was converted into a church of St. Georgios, which was used for worship until 1833, when it was declared a national monument.

Ahhhh… lemme just bust out my scroll. Hahaha;; I do have a lot. But, there are some that I’ve used for side stories, to help Palutena’s story, for AUs, and other stories I made. Some have lasted and some haven’t. But, there are a couple who have a special place in my heart and basically see as my mains. To list a few, there’s Etsuo, Memphis, Byron Robyn, Penelope, Logan {who both are for my zombie apocalypse story, hahah;; }, Albus, Lavender {pokemon oc}, and many others tbh;; Ahhh… I love my babies;; Though Etsuo, Byron, and Memphis are the only three I’d ever consider bringing to Tumblr. Albus, you can see in some rps with Palutena as a supporting character. He’s like the Ganymede to her Zeus lmao. There’s also Daisy who’s a supporting character for her too. She’s a medical angel {yes like the ones in the old kid icarus NES version}Even Palutena is an OC in herself now with the AU version I’ve made of her. I’ve basically taken the main points of her. Her looks. Name. And home. And twisted it into a totally different and more profound story, lmao;;I love talking about my ocs hahaha;;

-- puckish-rogue liked for a starter;; 【 ▪ ▫ ☼    Oh, how the days blurred together now that she was forced to go into hiding; blending in with the mortals of the Earthen world. Days went on and summers passed like the winds of time were mocking her with every chance they got. She lived a simple, boring, sad existence but what mattered the most was that she was simply living. Hiding. The darker side of the Grecian world was nothing more than a vast memory now since many went into hiding from the wrath of the ancient world. Her story as well as many others were nothing more than considered myths now... a story that never existed. Long story short, the Goddess of Light was simply contented knowing she was one of the few who made it out alive-- along with her best friend; Goddess of agriculture-- Demeter, who shared her now modest existence with the Goddess.  The two adapted quite well, to their surprise, with the mortal realm. They had realized that with their combined powers, they created delicious foods and abundant flowers when Demeter’s daughter came to visit for the spring. Artlessly, the two created a flower shop together where they sold beautiful bouquets and other accessories of the sort to the mortals who requested and ordered them for special occasions. Weddings and prom being the most busiest for them. It was a quiet and elementary existence, but they were content.... Sad to say, Palutena was not sure where the rest of her family was. Or if they were even alive. Even Pit had disappeared after the attack on Religion. From what she gathered; she was alone, for the most part. Even with Demeter and her friend’s daughter who shared a common flat above the flower shop in the busy city. She figured she was the last of the Weather Gods.  Even today, it was a quiet, slow day. She answered the usual phone calls, watered and trimmed the flowers, played with colors that matched in different bouquets, and delivered those orders to their respectable owners. She was mending the shop by herself while Demeter took the day off and she would have been alone if it wasn’t for the ringing of the front door that brought her out from the back of the store. “Hello! Welcome to Sky Flowers!” She called out, brushing a piece of her emerald green hair out of her eyes that had slipped from her loose ponytail. “Can I help you with anything?” She asked, now setting her eyes on the gruff, and quite frankly, serious looking male who looked completely out of place from the colorful and happy aura the store emitted. She gulped.    ▪ ▫ ☼ 】
